If you mean the Model P, Colt's custom shop still makes them, as does a number of Italian clone makers. Taurus offers their version now. Don't forget Freedom Arms fabulous rendition. Ruger makes their Vaquero, and while it's no Model P, it is very popular with SASS members for its ability to take a lot more punishment than an original Colt.
If you mean .45 Colt ammo (NOT "long" Colt...never was a "short" Colt), it is loaded commercially by well over a dozen major and custom ammunition plants.
So, no. The .45 Colt is very much alive and well, and likely more popular than ever.

One of my favorites (I have, well more than one item chambered for .45 Colt and .45 Auto), is my latest acquired item. A Colt New Service made in 1913 and chamber for; you guessed it. .45 Colt.

have you priced 45 colt reciently? oh my god ! I was looking at 40.00 a box at a wisconsin Gander Mountain ! I tend to lean toward my 38 right now. I hope prices return to normal soon I really like playing with the 45 colt
