Does anyone know the rules on off-duty employment as a police officer ?

Altough an interesting discussion, I would STRONGLY advise against relying on an eight year old ALCOAST for any information. Technically, by CG instructions, you can not rely on a 27 day old ALCOAST (as of today) as they pretty much all when turtle on Jan 1st. Use that message as a starting point to show you what sections of the PERSMAN to look at.

you have to go through the states police program, be it rookie school, or some type of blet, basic law enforcement training.
