I was hoping that any current or former members could offer up some advice both for preparation and while we're there, and some of the main things to look out for.
Thanks, and I really appreciate it

When boarding some of those freighters from other countries....watch out for snakes!!! Eek

Nothing like spotting one hiding in the bos'n locker lines as we did on one drug bust. Big and brown...didn't stick around to find out what kind it was. Big Grin

As stated before Eat your Wheaties!!
Rule 1 The Team Chief is ALWAYS RIGHT!!
Rule 2 Stay off the bottom Bunk. (intoxicated squids tend to mistake them for the Head)
Rule 3 If by some impossible inconceivable chance the Team Chief is mistaken or incorrect refer back to Rule 1.

If you go to Panama a fun club is The Elite!
My personal favorite is the Club Hablano's across from the Mariott.
Good Hunting!

I found the following routine served me well during LEDET deployments:

Eat
Sleep
Workout
Train
Stand Watch
Eat
Sleep
Workout
Eat
Sleep

REPEAT for duration of deployment minus BSFs/MidPat. We called our racks the "Time Machine".

Every once in awhile a boarding opportunity will come up, you just have to work it into the schedule. Wink

Remember the officers and crew of the commercial vessels that you board are professionals, treat them as such.

Also keep your eyes open and mouth shut.

If you have suggestions or questions, save them for after the boarding or the debrief.

That is some funny stuff right there...

Seriously though, bring a lock because those squids will steal your stuff. And more importantly, make sure you bring your own pillow...

Cadets on a LEDET? My God, what is the world coming to. Well, on the plus side, you're not Navy VBSS, so thats a start.

Just LISTEN to what your team tells you. Your OIC, Chief and Teammates are the best out there (well, that would be true if you were going with PAC TACLET, but South will do in a pinch)and they'll keep you out of trouble. If you want the straight scoop, give me a call or send me an email, I'll be happy to tell you about LEDET life. I'm the only Gris in the global. Good hunting!

No doubt... I knew there were issues with finding enough racks aboard ships for them, but my Lord...LEDETs don't seem like the best fit.

I think our onsite relief by a LEDET from the old TACLET Gulf took place in one of those clubs. Wink

ok chief, very funny. I guess thats true in a way. I'll admit this though. Compared to working with LaFleur, everything else was a cake walk. Daywalker, if you're reading this, you know I'm just bustin ya!
