I think the MSST thing was still in Chinese Parliament and MSRT was still in it's infancy that's why I didn't mention it. I only knew of the other two scenarios.

Jerry,

If I remember correctly the only personnel that can carry a long gun and handgun are TACLET types and those that carry a shotgun if the CO authorizes it.

Negative, members from MSRT and MSST's carry dual weapons. Standard. And some times more.

The agency I work for requires a back up weapon while on duty and all weapons and magazines loaded to capacity.

As mentioned earlier, the CG boards in teams and there should be plenty of back up during the boarding.

In all seriousness you have the best backup there is in your boarding team and the Cutter or the unit that dropped you off in your back pocket. Unless you are on a LEDET then you have a haze gray warship backing you up. Either way you have lots of backup with you all the way. Incidentally LEDETS, MSST’s & MSRT’s are not the only ones in the CG to carry long guns and side arms. The cutters in the Middle East also carry the same weapon configuration. They all got special training prior to deployment.

Yep....it was a heck of a comforting feeling being on a freighter or trawler in the Caribbean and looking over to see that big white 378' watching over you. Then again, I didn't exactly care to be on the bad guy boat if the .50s opened up. Wink Eek

True that but at least you knew you wern't off to the next life alone. I would just tell them DON'T SHOOT ANYTHING BLUE!!!!!!! Then again it was hard to tell the difference between us in our gas station attendant uniforms and some others. I personally liked the new ODU and our new high speed Tac Vests!! Even the Squids could tell the difference. Shooting ability, however, was a different story.

My plan if the 50's opened up was to either;

a) get behind something steel

b) get over the side Big Grin

Either way, I still felt a lot of comfort with that big white beast floating alongside.
