I see on these various Army websites about things they want to implement but what installation would you say is on the forefront of these programs?

It looks like Huachuca his pretty up-to-date but I guess you can only get stationed there if you're Intel.

I tried all day to do research on my own but nothing turns up a good guide about all the bases.

I heard Lewis is, but never been there. I know Polk isn't.

I would put Fort Lewis as one of the most up to date as far as soldier welfare, there px is like a mall, there living quarters built on north fort, they no longer have 2 or 3 man rooms, they have a common area and seperate bedrooms. they are all cable and internet, phone ready each building has there own chow hall, its a pretty good place to be stationed

Define modern and up-to-date. Exactly what programs are you referring to?

From a ground up looking at it, would it not be Fort Drum? It was reactivated in the late 80's as an AD Post, and all new facilities were erected from the ground up. I haven't been up there in some time, but the last time I was up there, the old side of post was pretty barren less some of the Guard and Reserve components still residing on that side of the post.

Where was 10th Mountain before that? A guy from my OSUT class in '86 was on a 10th Mountain contract.

I don't know about most modern, but a lot of Ft. Carson was renovated just a couple years ago. They're supposed to move the rest of 4th ID back there sometime soon, so I bet it all has been now.

I went back there in '03, and it all looked about the same to me. I didn't go inside the barracks, though.

Camp Arifjan, Kuwait as of 2003 became a permenant duty post - and construction started in 1997. My guess that probably makes it the most modern post.
