OK, we just fixed the word "jungle"......any other profanity filter problem words or subwords please post them here. Preferrably with periods between each letter so I can read them AND no profanity please.

c.o.n.s.p.i.c.u.o.u.s. The s.p.i.c. is edited out. Con****uous.

Another one I just found: s.p.i.c.y. Same edit: ****y. It took me a while to figure out what the word was supposed to be ...

I think that is an example of the biggest headache, sensoring a word within a word making the post almost a guessing game.

Uncensor the word c.o.c.k. Being that its a military term, it being censored sometimes gets in the way of conversation.

Seems a little strange to me that there are profanity filters here at all. in my opinion, the job of the United States military is to bend the will of an oposing country and their army to that of the US... or KILL them. Pretty severe work to be concerned about a few colorful words...

I absolutely agree and we are not as strict on the profanity or vulgarity in the Infantry Forum or the MODF for that reason. It's a civilian website with advertisers and display is wide open to the public.....so thats the reason why it is kept muted.

I submitted the above words to be changed so give it a few days. Not sure GeraldM will get his wish with one of George Carlin's seven dirty words but we'll see.

Of course, it's always fun to find unique ways to sneak actual dirty words past the censor filter, either by spelling them wrong or using numbers and puncuations. I better not give any examples (in this thread) or a mod will scold me.

I understand, it's just that I've spent my career as a FA mechanic and we're a foul mouthed bunch on average, then again perhaps it was just me... For the most part I refrain as it's not awfully professional to use frequent vulgar launguage but sometimes it just comes out.

and now in honor of the late great George Carlin...

****, ****, ****, ****, **********, ************, and ****

Let's test this one: *****rdly (meaning stingy).

EDIT: Yep, that's what I thought. The word was n.i.g.g.a.r.d.l.y. No racial slur in that word, around for centuries pre-racial put-downs.

Now you can explain that the blank adapter serves to help make sure the M16 recock the weapon for the next round after you fire your first.
