Did I mention I like to WHINE?

Hi I'm Shawna. I was just wondering if there were any other Air Force spouses on here. I don't ever seem to see any.

1. I would assume because it is your post. If you really need a more technical answer I'll be sure to look into it for you.

2. No outside links are allowed, other than links from inside military.com, from monster.com, or official government or military (.gov or .mil) sites. No exceptions are made due to the fact that it is hard to determine what is and isn't allowed according to TOS, and we don't want any preferential treatment to be shown.

Third, and finally, the attitude is not necessary or appreciated - if you have a problem with a moderator's actions, take it to email.

Links to military videos outside of what you stated above are prevalent all OVER this web site.

And, you didn't either fix nor explain why your moniker is linked to my profile.

If you are not interested in answering my simple questions honestly, then I will 'take it to email' - but obviously it won't be to you because your name is linked to my profile.

~Any light you might be willing to shed on this two issues would be greatly appreciated.

For you name is linked to her profile it could have been a glich at the time, it is not doing it now. I was able to see both of your profiles individually with the right names.

If you wish a link to the video you can place it on your profile, that is your discretion. But on this forum (Spouses) we do not allow outside links except to those by military.com, .mil, etc... The way the other forums are run is up to them as it is there choice. If you find there is an issue with that, please take it up with the moderators.

Thank you Navywife...

As of 9:11 PM tonight my time her moniker was still linked to my profile. I know, because I checked before I answered her. Click on her blue link above because I am still being directed to my own profile.

I'm curious as to why the Spouses forum is so much more "anal" about military 'feel good' videos (such as the one I posted a link to) than all of the other forums?

the profile problem is definitely a glitch, and the Tech gods are aware that it happens occasionally. Unfortunately there is nothing we can do about it at our end. heck right now I have three people who have asked me to email them some information through their profile and I cannot.

as for the outside links issue, it was a JOINT decision by all the Mods at the time and has to do with the request to be aware of possible copyright infringement and pother things. EACH Forum's Lead Moderator has the flexibility to enforce the TOS as strictly or as loosely as they wish. You are not required to like the decisions made by the Mod Team, you are only required to obey them. if you choose not to, the Entretainment Forum is available to you and would probbaly allow you to post all the 'feel good' links you want.

the SPOUSES Forums are for INFORMATION AND SUPPORT, not fluff.

I get each profile correctly when I check them.

As for the links - I have received emails from "up top" stating we are not to allow links unless they are approved first by the home office. So, I have instructed my mods to do so.

I cannot speak for other areas of the forums.

Mrsjvb,

I understand you are a volunteer and I don't mean to shoot any messenger. Hopefully you volunteers are hammering the "Tech Gods" on what is broken and needs to be fixed...and how LONG that takes to happen.

"as for the outside links issue, it was a JOINT decision by all the Mods at the time and has to do with the request to be aware of possible copyright infringement and pother things."

COPY...got it...BUT...did anyone even take the time or brain power to actually step up to the plate, watch the video and make a decision on whether this might be a copyright infringement (IT WAS A HOME VIDEO!) and then *make* that judgement call? Nope...it was just deleted because *someone said* outside links weren't allowed ... apparently without understanding the detailed parameters of those rules!

SgtMom, feel free to email me on this if you like. I have been on just a few of the forums on here for years and, if you want my further .02, feel free to ask.

This has nothing, really to do with that actual video.

Hi again,

So this past week, my fiance and I had the opportunity to visit the Edwards AF Base in SoCal with his recruiter. All I can really say is I was so impressed by everything and how friendly everyone was! We're closer to signing the actual AF contract for enlistment now and everything is going great. We're planning on a simple civil marriage in the coming month (set plans) and have agreed that I'll definitely be moving and living with him where ever he gets stationed, also during language and tech school (which I know is going to be more difficult).

I thought that I remembered someone posting that they were in Monteray, CA for DH's language training...and was wondering how that was working out? My fiance would be enlisting as a Cryptologic Linguist and I know that this would entail both a very lengthy language school followed by a traditional technical school but I thought that maybe I could get a better idea of what's to come from others on this forum.

I look forward to talking with you guys more indepth, and joining you all as a AF Wife soon enough Smile

- Francesca

Hello, I have been an Air Force wife now for two and a half years and although, it hasn't been the easiest, it has been an interesting wife. I have enjoyed being the few places we have been so far, but sometimes it is hard getting settled. I am just hoping to find others who feel the same as well as someone who is near by.
