Hey everyone. I'm not sure if this is the correct place, so I'm sorry if it isn't.
I just want someones advice. I'm leaving for bct in the beginning of december and I'm VERY excited. My only problem is I keep thinking about my Daughter. She just turned two in September and shes attached to my hip most of the time. Anytime I leave she cries for me and I do not want that to be what our goodbyes consist of. Does anyone have any advice on how they made it easier for their children?

Start by leaving the room without her for a few minutes. Then increase the time by a couple minutes every couple of days. Get some toys, put them around her, etc. After a couple of minutes, walk back in the room so that she sees that you come back and all is okay. Lots of praise, hugs and kisses when she responds appropriately.
Don't always do the "it's okay, it's okay. Don't cry, don't cry" bit either--it just reinforces the behavior.

Start NOW, work on this every single day. She will get to understand that even though you walk out of the room or whatever--you're gonna come back.

Just my thought--worked with both of my kids....

No problem. Smile

It'll take a lot of patience and will to do this, but you can do it! Smile
