Hi all,

I'm just wondering if anyone has any guesses as to whether or not I'm likely to get space available lodging at Lackland AFB for the weekend of September 18 to attend my husband's BMT graduation? Is September a high-volume month for official duty travelers? Thanks for any and all responses! I've emailed the inns of Lackland directly, but haven't heard anything back just yet.

The problem you will have is that everyone in his flight has family looking for the same thing. There are some cheap, but clean, places down the road from Lackland. I stayed in one many years ago when I went down to Sea World (which may be closed now). It wasn't the Ritz but the prices being charged wasn't the Ritz either.

Space a travel is the last to open up, those on orders take priority.

We're staying at an embassy suites in San Antonio this weekend. Going rate for the Holiday weekend was 107 a night. I get that may be a bit pricey for you (we need the suites with four kids- free drinks and breakfast are a bonus) just showing that even over a holiday weekend suites aren't that bad, so don't be scared to look in the surrounding area for a room.

Why are you here posting? Call them and find out if they take reservations. Also, look at other nearby military bases.

JB_your knowledgable and helpful-but sometimes to tend to the rude side dear-please try and temper that.
Having said that hes right-if they are not responding to emails-call them-and there are lots of reasonable places near there-and not only is Sea World not closed they will give military members and thier ID card holding dependants a days free admission.

When we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives means the most to us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving advice, solutions, or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a warm and tender hand.

I called them a couple of weeks ago to see about booking a room to visit Sea World and they said they will actually take reservations ahead of time. I dont know if that applys to every weekend, but they let me go ahead and make my reservations! Good luck and congrats on the graduation!
