I have a TS clearance and my fiance has duel citizenship. She currently lives in and is a citizen of the US, but still has her Brazilian citizenship and works for the Brazilian Consolate as well. How big of an issue is her job? Would she have to lose her Brazilian citizenship? Anyone have any input on a situation like this?

Best bet would be to talk with your command about this. It may depend more on what knowledge you have access to, than her being a Brazilian citizen.

her working for the Consulate is a waaaayyy bigger issue than her being a citizen of another country.

she may have to quit the job altogether if you wish to keep your clearnce.

any work with a foreign government (eve if your a bus driver but hired through them) can have impact on your clearence rather then someone being a foreign nation.

even if she quits she will have to mention it and expect the process to take a little longer.

and NO she does not have to loose her citizenship. joy of being dual. but even if she wasnt you never have to renounce your citizenship to marry military, its a rumour that lots go with as it can make paper work in the long run easier. but if shes dual she will have no problem, american doesnt recognize dual citizens (providing one is american as im assuming is the case here). they just care about that american side

they will have issues with her job but the brazillian aspect is nothing to worry about.

her job is different might not even make a difference if she quits depending on the work she did there. talk to your security manager and see what they have to offer in terms of information and advice
