Or something? I'm looking for someone who was in Navy boot camp with me around 2001, i remember her last name and but not her first. So I was wondering if there was some place that keeps a list of names of recruits who graduate from boot camp. Some kind of year book or something.

I know this post most likely goes in missing persons and I did post this question there several months ago. I haven’t gotten any responses. Today I checked the boards again and someone else posted a similar question and he/she got no responses. I don't know, seems like a simple question. They either do or they don't keep a such a list/records.

If they do then please help. I'd love to get in contact with this person again. If anyone can help me somehow then please send an e-mail or something. Thanks!

Did you not get a copy of the Boot camp yearbook when you graduated or shortly afterwards? Dh has his that has a list of names.

You can try doing a buddy search on here and see if that helps.

For find out if they do, your best bet is to contact GL and find out themselves. They may offer it to graduates as long as you can prove you are one.

They are called Cruise Books in the Navy, not yearbooks. If you didn't purchase a copy of "The Keel" when you PIR'd, then you can see if they have a copy of your Division's:

Navt Exchange- The Keel
Building 1312
Great lakes, IL 60088

after 14 years, DH still has his, as well as every cruise book from every ship deployment.

Awesome! Thanks for the responses guys!

I don't have a cruise book because I got a medical discharge two weeks before graduation.

What's making this search even harder is that when I got home, another friend from my division wrote me a letter telling me both she and the girl I'm now searching for were severly injured during battle stations. The friend who wrote me the letter was sent back home but i'm guessing the missing friend refused to go home(as was her nature) so she remained in seps.

I sent her a letter at seps but it was returned to me. By the time my letter reached the bootcamp she'd already been recycled into another division Frown .

So, I don't know what division she was in. But I would bet the farm that she did graduate, and graduated before or right after 9/11. She just wanted to be in the military so bad and even I sent prayers for her that she made it.

Wait...who's DH?

If he has a copy of all the year books maybe I can just ask him the last name and give him a description of her? I'd say she graduated after july 2001.

DH( designated/Damn or Darling Husband, depending on my mood) PIR'd in 1996

when I say he has copies of his cruise books, I mean ones that HE deployed as a part of.. after RTC.

every ship, sub and Squadron will put out a cruise book after a major deployment.

Thanks for the extra info. This search would have been so much easier if i remembered her first name (for sure, I had a couple of guess but they must have been wrong since I haven't found anything yet).

What makes matters worst is she had a pretty common last name too. GRRRR. I did do a friend search and it turned up like 80 pages of people.

Well i'll try the other stuff suggested, thanks for the responses.
