The times that I do watch it I get a chuckle whenever they do a story of some razzel dazzle weapon system being at White Sands Missle Test Range. The producers make it look sooo hush-hush. Showing tight shots from inside the car, none outside the car. Here, let you in on a very top secret piece of information. I'll have to kill you though. From El Paso head NW on Ste Rt 54 till you get to MLK Highway.(Getting this, but don't let the Russians have this) Follow the signs to WSMR, it's about 32-35 miles. Now to get on the base you need top secret papers. You need your Driver's licence, proof of insurance and car registeration. Now that I have told you this top secret info, you have to EAT your computer! Big Grin Just having fun. You can find the place on any tourist map of our part of Texas/New Mexico.

Yep, finally got it up here on GCi cable this week! Cool

Was just watching a program about the German ME-109 and some of their pilots.

Now there is a program about the M-1 Abrams Tank. Wow...quite a change from the first British Tanks of 1916!

You'd think the selection of programming would be pretty limited on a network with such a specific subject, but I rarely have seen the same thing repeated. I wish they'd get off the Air Force and Navy, though.

They have weeks devoted to each of the services. I've been watching it since it was called "Wings". There is another sister(?) channel called "Military History", that one is pretty good as well. Also the "History Channel" has a series called "Dogfights" which is really interesting.

Correct Raunchy. I recall when it was Discovery-Wings channel. It was good. They also had some programs about civilian aircraft and flying and "Tips" from private pilots.

Look for/ask for "The Pentagon Channel"...Good info, good shows, good news about the 5 services. They also have several older newsreel/Army-Navy Film type programs that show some good history/bios.

Right now as I'm typing this they are showing/talking about "The Old Guard"---The only unit in the U.S. Army that is permitted to march with Fixed Bayonets...Because,,, they were the ones that made a Bayonet Charge up the steps of the castle in Mexico City in the Mexican-Amercan War!

Yeah, you're right. I had forgotten. They used to have some excellent programs on various WW2 fighters. One such program was called "This Wing will Fly" about the history of the Flying Wing. I have been trying for years to find it but with no luck.

I used to, and its freaking awsome, but I moved after the divorce and cable is too high, and I only really want like 3 other channels other than basic, but I am not gonna pay 30 extra dollars when half of the basic channels suck already..

I do miss it though.

I have the Military Channel and I realize they have a partnership with this website but it seems like they repeat the same shows over and over again. They have some new ones but I've seen that show on the Stryker vehicle at least 4 times on there.

With all the new vehicles they are experimenting with in Iraq and Afghanistan you would think they would add some more? Confused

Remember it from being the guest of the VA, my ward roomie had it on continuously, saw all the shows for a few weeks, pretty much recycled but entertaining.
At home I have rabbit ears, watch 1 show a week, that's all I'll spend the time on. Cool

I caved and went Cable after almost 7 years of life off an Antenna. TV reception is pretty good here in Texas. I didn't want to go with a converter box. I might change my mind later.

I'm paying a lot for Cable and all I want is the Sci-Fi channel, you have to pay for two bundles to get that even.

The channel is par excelonce. Great series on life aboard a carrier. Last night I watched a program about Richard the Lionheart fighting against Saladin in the 3rd Crusade. Didn't pull the punches...'a course the outcome of the battles were in 20/20 hindsight. Well worth that dish target sitting on my roof.
