I'm retiree, I understand that if divorced is granted to my wife (over 20 yrs. marriage), she can claim 50% of my retirement pay, plus alimony.
As a divorcee, is she still entitled to TRICARE?
What else are her entitlement i.e SSN benefits, commissary, etc.... Now, if she pass away first, am I getting back the 50% of my retirement?

Here is some information on the USFSPA. Hopefully that can answer your questions.

I know both sides are trying to get some changes made to this. Read all you can on this and make sure your lawyer knows it inside and out before you divorce.

On the alimony as far as I know that is rare these days. So many women work outside the home already that alimony is not what it used to be.

It's not just 20 years of marriage but 10 years of marriage during your military service. In your case, reading between the lines, it is probably a moot point but it is there.
