Welcome to our newest addition to the Spouse Community!
As you read through these pages, there are some things we would like you to remember. Most of these have come from members that have been there, done that. 1.) Please use punctuation and capitalization. While you may think it doesn't matter, it does. If you wish to be taken seriously and be better understood, try your best to write something legible. 2.) Paragraphs are your friends. If you can't be bothered to start a new paragraph, why would you think someone could be bothered to take the time trying to decipher what you are saying? 3.) Remember that if you use all CAPS, you are yelling. No one likes to be yelled at and it's hard on the eyes when reading. 4.) The dictionary is your friend.....good spelling is a good habit to get into. Another helpful hint is to cut and paste your post into Word or an email program and use the spelling tool to check your post. 5.) Please remember this is a public forum and when you post your dirty laundry for the entire internet community to read, then please anticipate that you will be getting a lot of different responses. The responses may not be what you like, but remember you chose to expose your laundry. Don't get mad if we pick through it. 6.) Have a thick skin and a sense of humor. In other words, we are not here to offend. While it happens at times, it helps if you are not easily offended. 7.) Be respectful. We have a lot of senior, experienced people here. ALL MEMBERS are treated with respect until they give up that right. This forum is provided to you for free, and is a public forum, but that does not give you the right to be disrespectful. 8.) Agree to disagree - don’t keep hammering away with a point that another member refuses to acknowledge. Just agree to have a different viewpoint; otherwise the resentment builds. 9.) Read the Terms of Service that you agreed to when joining. 10.) Respect the Moderators. The Moderators are those individuals who monitor the forums, assist the members, and ensure that the Terms of Service (TOS) are adhered to. If they give you a warning, HEED IT - the next warning will be your suspension or worse. And last but certainly not least, thank you to those that contributed to this post. Your words are invaluable! |
