To the fleet,

NO we are not closing our HS A school. HQ has cut back on quotas due to each of our paygrades being stocked full.

If you have a young SN or FN contemplating putting their name on the school list encourage them to do so. It is well worth the wait!

Unless HQ is keeping something from myself and the School Chief, Whisper we are open for business, just not at 30 people a class. It has been cut to 14-15 a class.

Supervisors, make your people aware the wait has increased from what was at times less than a year to a wait now of two years. Yet at the end of that wait, is one of the most satisfying jobs in the Guard, taking care of our most precious resource....our people. Smile

Course Chief, HS A School

Wow 2 years. Sounds like we are going back to the old days of A School waiting lists. Wish a few more things would go back to the old days as well. Big Grin

How about Real manuals! Nothing worse than having the system go down when you need to look something up!

Ohhh I still do pen and paper entries!

I do Shakesperean caligraphy by hand in Old English font using a fountain pen in my SF-600s; takes me a week to write up a S.O.A.P for a common-cold. I wonder if that's why mt DMOA never requested my quarterly reports Big Grin Dvlish

It is nice to see that I am not alone!!! Big Grin Although I doubt my DMOA would classify my handwriting technique as calligraphy.

Cripes, I remember (painfully) waiting 3.5 years to go to "A" school. Is there any validity to the rumors that all of our medical schools are going to be moving to San Antonio or that general area? Some effort to consolidate all branch medical into one place...

I dont think that my DMOA would classify my freehand technique as calligraphy!! Big Grin

When I placed my name on the list, the waiting time was three years(back in 1992). I remember only having to wait a year and a half. I guess that a lot of people went into different rates because of the long wait?

I have not heard anything about our schools moving to TX. Heck, we just started our IDHS school in Petaluma! What are your hearing at MLC?

I'm an instructor(at least some people seem to think so...LOL)at IDHS School at TRACEN P-luma, and I have heard nada, niente, nothing on any of the medical schools moving to San Antonio. Paul Medic is right: IDHS School is in a brand new building. Now, when I was attending SFIDC School in San Diego from '05-'06, the Navy was talking about moving that school and maybe one or two others to San Antonio. Nothing has come of that yet, so I reckon that was a rumor too. Thanks to Osama-bin d!&k-head, TRACEN P-luma got a new 'lease' on life...indefinitely, especially with 'Deep-Caca', uh, I mean, 'Deep-Water'. Angel/Devil
