Just took the HSC SWE and was wondering what everyone else thought about it. Things have been moving in fast forward on my end and I didn't get all the study time I wanted. However, all in all, I didn't think it was all that tough (now watch me place somewhere in the mid 80's).

I think that I did fairly well on the HSC exam, based upon the questions I remembered when I started looking them up that evening. I have learned that it is not how well I did that matters... it is the final score of everyone else! Big Grin

I agree, raw score gives you an idea when compared to other raw scores out there but the final multiple is where it counts. I am hoping the extra 4 pts in awards will help me be a little stickier on the list this year. I fell 13 places last year.

I hear more test points are an overall better advantage than are more award points. Regardless I have more award points and I am going to count on them. I felt it was much easier than last year.

How many HSC's are out there doing rectal temps these days? lol.

I think that this test was alot easier then last years. Nothing about calendar days vs working days!

Alot of the questions were on last years as well though. Glad I wrote them down last year!

Good luck to all.

Bob,
Did you take the HSCS test? I guess I got an 88, so we'll see how that pans out.

I scored 83 on the HSCS exam. Stats from the past 2 HSCS SWE's had raw score averages in the low 70's. Word on the street is there are only going to be 2 or 3 vacancies this year. Good luck to all those who tested, let the waiting games commence!
Cheers! Beer

Well, when they go to #15 of 17 the year before...I'd be surprised if they made 3 this year. I'm pretty sure you've got me on points this year for the final Phil.

Chris-
Yah it's a little discouraging looking at how many were made last year and thinking how long it's going to effect the window for advancement to 8. I still kick myself in the a$$ for not making it a priority to take the EPME and get to the CPO Academy a year earlier to test when the window was open. Oh well, we could all be doing alot worse than serving in Uncle Sam's Finest Yacht Club.
Cheers!

I won't say what I made except to say that the first number was a zero, the second number was a zero, and the third number was a zero. Wow!, it looks like I made a perfect score. Beer Confused
