Guys, Guys, Guys...

Let's not start a flame war here.....akwaman and myself differ on our opinions of the subject of CWO and that's fine. Heck, the way I look at it is that's one less person I have to compete against! Smile We all have our own opinions, so let's respect them.

BTW- I do agree that is you're going to take shots at someone, you need to have an identity Especially, if you're going to take shots at a Cheif that's been there done that. If you've payed the CWO game, then you're qualified to comment. If not.....
Just my opinion, of course! Wink

This is a prime example how final multiples are more important than raw scores. Raw scores are not meaningless but other factors are just as important and must be considered. I was #10 on this list based on raw scores. After the final multiples were calculated I dropped to 23. I dropped even further the year previous with a score of 88. I had less TIS, TIG, fewer award points. Going up against older HS1's who have had time to max out award points and gain an advantage on TIS and TIG simply by having been in longer. It is the experience factor that keeps the experience and knowledge (wisdom) at the top. I would rather have the experienced as my chief than the good test takin' book smart knucklehead. The latter can make clinic life hell. I am junior TIS/TIG in comparison to the average HSC test taker but slowly catching up.

This is why I suggested we use the calculator for an estimated final multiple with everyone using the same St. Dev and mean score. It will provide a better projection even if inaccurate with st dev and mean.

I think the last cut was 20 for HSC last year. Somebody correct me if I am wrong. Where did you end up on the list last year?[/QUOTE]You said knowledge and experience, so if you would made the cut for HSC off last years swe with a raw score of 49 you would have been happy with being an HSC? Thats interesting

Who are you and why do you continue to take nameless shots at folks in here? You seem less a hero and more a zero. Show some class and post a profile if your going to call people out and be inflamatory.

Zero's are people like you who are not good enough to be warrant, and get promoted with raw scores in the 40's.

I did say knowledge and experience leads to a better chief, maybe in different words and that through final multiples PSC is trying to capture that data through computing final multiples. Test scores alone do not and will not predict job performance and I did not mean to imply that they did. Considering I had a 49 and about 1 standard deviation from the mean test score last year I would say that my experience and research paid off and will continue too in the long run. It adds to my experience. If I wasn't comfortable making chief I would not be testing and is why I waited 2 yrs post SWE eligibility to test for HSC. Again, I didn't make it but if I did I would be more than happy. I think elated or ecstatic might be a better description, damn I might even shed a tear.

I am sure there were at least a couple dinosaurs that scored less than 49 and made the cut.

You are becoming quite antagonistic in this forum. Applause

Why haven't you posted your raw score anyway? Eek

Nice troll Chris.

It is easy to post inflammatory replies when we dont know who you are!!

I am willing to bet that you(Hero44) are a disgruntled former HS3, wanting to vent on some Chiefs. With your childish behavior, I would be shocked to see your rank higher than that...

At least man up and let us know who you are! The fact that you are scared to let us know who you are says volumes...

Jason,

He has not posted his raw score because he is most likely not even eligible to take the SWE! I am sure he is more than busy getting an upper hand on his peformance probation, if he is even still allowed to wear the uniform.

For what it's worth here are some of my thoughts on SWE taking.

Master what you can control- how you do on the test. If you want to make 7 or 8 in our rate you have to write #1 on the test. To make 9 you have to write #1 plus hope the stars align (no pun intended). Writing # 1 will still get you bumped to #3 if you are up against old timers, trust me.

Only ask someone who has written a good test how to study.

Here's a proven motivator. Identify a person at or near your pay grade who you think is a piece of stool. Tell yourself "I will never work for this person". Make a commitment to studying. Any time you don't feel like studying imagine that person telling you "I have a good idea and I want you to do X, Y, and Z. Better yet imagine that piece of stool counseling you on the marks he or she just gave you because you didn't study as much as you wanted.

Congrats!! That is an awesome score. I will be happy to break a 90.

The suspense is getting intense. Of course, those guys at Topeka most likely closed at noon today! lol
