im really upset right now. i just wanted to know if there is anything i can do about a third dependent. if my husbands working and making about the same as i would be making after joining, does he still qualify as a dependent? he doesnt have custody of his child yet but will eventually. i also have a daughter. is there anything i can do that i would still be able to join the cg

I had to sign a waiver. When I joined I was married and had 2 kids. It was rough in the begining with the cut in pay but can be done.

you need to talk to your recruiter. If your husband does not have full time custody of that child I do not believe that it is considered a dependent.

Might in the near future also could mean might not. If if he does get custody will you be able to move the child out of the courts jurisdiction?

Be careful, the CG doesn't always do too well with assigning members based on their family needs. It is a great service with tremendous opportunities but we don't consider families when we assign folks, at least based on my experience.

The CG tries, but "needs of the service" will always trump "needs of the family", as it should.
