He said that he was at Corps level.

I said XVIII Airborne Corps?

He said 'EYE" Corps

I said First Corps?

He said Europe.

I said V or VII Corps?

Then I mentioned a SALUTE report and he told me that the "E" stood for enemy.

I told him it stood for Equipment.

he started talking about MRE"s

Thoughts?

WTF?

That guys is full of SCHIT.

First, the is no suck thing as a ****ing LRS TAB.

I Corps (first corps) LRS is a NG unit. They are the only corps LRS that is not active.

Second, 82d'd LRS is NOT a Corps asset, XVIII ABN Corps has their own LRS.

What kind of Soldier can't tell you what a SALUTE Report is?

FRAG HIS AZZ.
First Off I was with the XVIII ABN CORPS LRSC back in 1992, I have met many people who say I'm this and I'm that...MOST are full of crap. The next time someone says I was a LRRP ask them what a DMAG is or ask the what a DAR or RON site is. There's too many wannabees out there and it ****es me off. I was back in Florida visiting with a friend when we drove by a planet fitness, I saw this guy running on a treadmill wearing my LRSC t-shirt but the shirt was wrong. The XVIII ABN CORPS LRSC t-shirt has the large logo on the back and small on the front. He as wearing it opposite. Needless to say I went in and confronted him. To make it short he didn't have the right answers. I still have my original t-shirt but it's pretty beat up and old. They don't make em anymore. My CO was at the time CPT Patrick E. Fuller I was on TM 2-1 with Pettit,Czernia,Webb,Sterling and Loehner. But hey frag the ******* anyways! RLTW !

Occasionaly my wife wears my old LRSD PT shirt to the gym, so if you see her, try not to give her a hard time about DMAG's and DAR's and whatnot, because she might punt your nuts thru the uprights like a feild goal. Big Grin

Cpt Pat was the stud!!! I worked with him when we moved the LRS-D from 525 MI to Dragon Bde/XVIII and started the upgrade to LRS-C. He was a hell of a wild man- damn good O-type. I think the t-shirts were only around for a couple of years- Pogue types at XVIII HQ really freaked over them several times. Understand after i retired (94) LRSC went back to 525 MI and got screwed.

I talked to a couple of those guys and they say they are pretty much left alone nowadays. They do have to play politics in their BDE, though.

Also, I think the Fuller you are talking about is now a BG and ADC of the 82d.

Say Numbers, I was a LRRP with the 25th Inf in Vietnam 66-67 and I have NO Idea what DMAG or RON is, of course that was over 40 years ago, but if you see me wearing my 25th Div LRRP T-shirt and you become a wise guy, I'd think twice before you called me a lier. My real point is many of us older gentlemen are not going to remember acronyms from 40 years ago. If you want to test me, ask me something about MACV Recondo school at Nha Trang or just go to our WEb site and look up my name.

Cheers...

I had a wild hair to see what the enemy could pickup on the web about US Army LRS who could be trying to keep a quiet eye on them. OPSEC.

Back in the day when I was a LRRP on team 3-3 in the last Airborne-Ranger LRRP Company with a scroll on the Ranger Department map. We had cats from SF, RB, 82nd Recon and we did not spend a dime on public relations. We did help the RD write the TO & E, FM's, and TM's for LRS back in 1986-87.

We did spend a great deal of time working with the SAS and Jaegerkorpset. We had the most advanced burst equipment in the inventory that we liberated from those good dudes in Force Recon. All of our equipment was civilian so as a Jumpmaster, we had to figure out how to get out the door with it, without killing ourselves, and civilian clothes were always in the kit, along with the lax grooming standards.

It sounds to me like Hollywood may have found its way in to this area of operations now. A new generation.
