House Hold 6 and I went out to the bar the other night. At the table next to us was a "Soldier" in uniform taking to a few girls. On his uniform he was sporting an 82nd patch. I heard him tell one of the girls that the "AA" stood for air assault. So, naturally I had to interrupt.I asked him where his AA wings were. He told me that if you wear the "AA" patch that you didn't need them. I immediately called ******** on this POS. I was getting pretty angry, but HH6 reminded me to behave and I let it go. Now, I see it as a little sad...for him. Just thought that you might like to know.

Probably a poser, if he didn't know what the AA really means.

posers in the army find themselves in Ft Knox's prison very quickly.
the army hates "px rangers".... i knew a ft Riley PLDC instructor that was wearing E-6 stripes and a Silver star get busted down to private and sentenced to 12 months at Ft knox. last i saw him he was wearing his uniform inside out and facing away from the flag while revelie played. Sad, really, that he was a gfood man, just did not think he was "good enough"

That's a first
Are you sure it was an army uniform?
Sounds more like a furnace air duck gleaner at a hotel.

The way it sounds, I know he wasn't wearing a set of jumpwings

I will never know Myself until I do this on my own
And I will never feel Anything else until my wounds are healed
I will never be Anything 'til I break away from me
And I will break away
I'll find myself today

Get serious.

The whole bar probably stood up and applauded and started to chant in unison: Air Assault!, Air Assault!, Air Assault!, probably followed by a phone call from the Mayor of Fayetteville to congratulate him on expressing his true feelings on what the 82nd Patch should be so eloquently in public.

Then the sun came out of the clouds and it stopped raining and a ray from the heavens shown upon him and a voice boomed out and said, My Son, My Son you have made me proud today with your honesty, so many deny their true desire for Air Assault Wings. I usually don't hear it until they arrive at the final Air Assault graduation pearly gates. Dvlish Big Grin

That was his daddy telling him to put it back and zip his pants or get a ticket for assault.

LOL, I remember on my second tour in Iraq, the 101st pilots were begging to fly us (82nd) on our missions because we were the only Infantry in country conducting air assaults.
