I'm trying to get a simple non-combat arms oriented training package put together for a non-firing MOUT and EMP type training.
Our resources are extremely limited, and dependant on the Army here loaning us 6-7 rifles (M-16A2's) and me being allowed to bring my magazines on base (i've had them confiscated at the front gate before... don't ask). Anyway, I know all the material, and how to teach what I want them to know. But I've forgotten much of the techincal names and words for things. For instance. Indicator Drills to get them in the habit of changing mags/clearing failures in combat... I know how to execute them but I can't remember which one is Indicator 2 or 3 etc. etc. I think Indicator 3 is when you have a jam. Not positive though. Anyway, anywhere online or in Marine Corps pubs I can get that lists all this. My coaches course book got lost when I lent it to the ISMT runner here. I could really use any help. I'd like to have the official words so I can write up a request for the training. Thanks in advance. |

Indicator 1: Weapon fails to fire or feed, bolt remains forward and seated. The next doctrinal action is tap rack bang.
Indicator 2: Weapon runs dry, bolt locks to rear. Next action is performing a combat reload. Indicator 3: Double-feed or jam in the chamber, shooter has to manually lock the bolt to the rear and clear the stoppage himself, removing the mag if necessary. Also this page http://www.scribd.com/doc/432351/USMC-MCRP-301A-Rifle-Marksmanship has the official Rifle Marksmanship MCRP. Section 3-7 deals with remedial action and lists the indicators in slightly different format but doesn't assign them any formal terminology. Finally this page http://council.smallwarsjournal.com/archive/index.php?t-2258.html has some good info on IA drills and EMP courses. Start with the post by jcustis on 11/19/07. |
