Your Grandfather and all who came before us are real heros. God bless them all.

I too have been attacked just to find out the one doing a lot of talking posted he did our float when his profile showed he was in boot camp and joined us later. Guess a lot of people feel their own self worth by shooting down other folks. Rather tragic really.

Thats why I don't buy into all that challenge crap or go behind someone's back. I just press on and don't dignify it with an answer. We all know where we were and what we did so what's the point? At my age life is way too short to sweat it anymore.

Having served in my Marine Corps as an 0311, I take it very personally when I get some kid who comes too the door of the bar that I work at and pretends to be a Marine, and try to tell me of his heroics's in Iraq. Having served in the corps, sometimes you just know when some sh*&bird isnt squared away and is full of spit! So I usually ask him what his 11th general order is , and if he doesnt sound off in a heartbeat, the correct response, to be especially watchful at night and during the time ETC .I KNOW THAT LOOK ON HIS FACE ,CAUSE IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME ,AND THEY KNOW THEY HAVE JUST BEEN BUSTED !!!!!!!My time in the corps I never got any trigger time and dont claim to ever have , BUT I SERVED MY BELOVED CORPS HONORABLY !!! 1982-1986 Also being called Devil dog was a badge a pride.

Dude if you asked me what my general orders was I'd look like a deer in the head lights. Now if you aske me the effective range of a Mk-19, I'll rattle that off in a heart beat.

Whoa.... Hold them dogs back killer! I was in the Corps for 14 years, and prompty, following barracks duty in 1990 I forgot them... I do recognized them now if someone spouts them out, but let me, let you in on a little secret... You even call me out, and tell me I'm an f,ing poser because I can't spout out a general order, I do my best to twist your head off!

Your walking a risky road there Marine, try to chill a bit...

Hound from Hell sounding off. Served with 1/6 Cold Steel duirng Desert Storm. I have come across posers and have no use for them. The real warriors are normally quiet and have a presence about them. I call it quiet confidence. Some call it being cocky or arrogant. At any rate, anyone who has seen the gates of hell open up does not talk about it. Semper Fidelis.

In any case, there are people out there who just plain get away with the sh*t. There are some whopper posers too. Like that guy a while back who posed as a Navy SEAL CMH winner. Took a couple of years for someone to finally nail him. And he was a High Profile dude.

I'm all in favor of sh*t that helps to out posers. Even if the countless threads take up valuable bandwith that could be put to better use as a porn video review thread or similar topic. Big Grin

You Don't know the date of the Marine Corps birthday?,,you have got to be kidding me.

I don't remember the platoon I was with in boot camp (although I do know the bn). So what, it is not like it was that big of a deal.

I can't remember my platoon # from boot camp, SOI and I especially can't remember what weapon SN I had. I usually stick to questions that pertain to everyday life. Such as oh you were with Lima 1/6 out of Camp Pendleton. Sure you were buddy. Things like that.

Or today a bus driver flagged me down (because of my haircut and started talking to me.) He asked if I was in I said yeah. Then he said and this is a direct quote "Well you're looking at one heroic SOB, I spent 24 years in the Corps as an airborne rifleman" I got out of there real quick. I wanted to beet some azz but he was an old man. It's just best to walk away. After all at the end of the day they go to bed knowing their a poser. So what do I care?

You know who I almost hate worse than the posers are the "I almost joined guys". Like somehow their almost joining if it wasn't for that one lame azz excuse, almost makes them a Marine or somehow they can relate to me.

Either way both groups suck at life.

Good question Hondarider, actually there is an age waiver for posers. You fill out a
DD -I-D-10-T form and explain how bad you really wanted to join and then list the reason you couldn't and about 4-6 weeks latter your poser waiver should come in and then you have free rein to tell all the moto stories you want just like if you were there. If you have any other questions go to www.posers.com. Because not only am I a waiver recipient myself I'm also the President! Big Grin J/K

Ok seriously guys you need to help me on this one. There's this guy calls himself Heavyjeepin on a website called usawarez.net right.

Says he was with 3/1 India RCT out of Horno then 2/5 Hotel out of San Mateo.

Now get this, he says he @served@ under lt col (lt col in the Corps? don't think we spell it that way do we?)

Then he goes on to say lt gen conway was base cdr in charge. Who the **** remembers the base Generals name? I know I sure as s**t don't!!

If this guy is for real I'll be in shock he sounds totally full of FACTUAL tidbits, any help? Also says he has 5 to go until he retires plus he's a widower with 4 kids 2 still at home and he's still in a deployable unit. Don't know about you but if I was his Company Co or Bn Co I'd cut the guy some slack not keep him haulin *** over hell and gone any suggestions?

Oh, here's the best part, says he's waitin on a med eval somethin' smell funny here?

hey got a question for you guys. I'm a Army Infantryman. Got a kid that was in the marines then came over to the Army <<<insert interservice trash talk here>>> He wears
Army Air assault wings but never went to the Army school. Said he got it in the Marines. Do you guys wear the same wings we do or do you even have an Air Assault school? I'm trying to find out if this kid is blowing smoke up our a$$ or what. Any help would be appreciated.
