Just looking for some good first person info on 2/9. I am currently with 2/9 and I just read your post about 1/9. I am assuming you have worked alongside 2/9 during your time with 1/9, and looking for some extra history that wouldn't be the typical stuff anyone could look up on wikipedia. Thanks man.
Welcome back!!! We've been waiting a long time to hear of you're arrival. Now all we need is 3/9 and the Striking Ninth is back in business. The world better beware because all three battalions have kick butt take names mentalities even though only 1/9 gets the recognition for it. You're with a great battalion. I'd troop with 2/9 anywhere anytime.
Below is some general info everyone knew but the rest is best received directly from them at their website because it's their battalion and not my place to speak for them.
Known as "Hell in a Helmet" and one highly respected hard charging battalion with their own mind set. They were "plodders" who simply put one foot in front of the other by taking each mission as it came and they always did it right no matter what.
Their philosphy was to beat 'em until they couldn't get up, then beat 'em even harder until they wouldn't want to. They most definitely lived up to that because 2/9 fought some pretty tough fights of their own and never backed off which is why they're so very highly respected even to this day.
2/9 was very smart in the way they did business because they took pretty good care of their people. They used fire support as much as possible and took off their flaks in order to minimize their heat casualties whenever they could. They had their act together and a lot of Devil Dawgs loved to work with them.
It'd be unfair for me to say anymore because it's not my place to speak for their battalion. All I know is 2/9 really had their shiat together.
