You are being assigned to one of the greatest battalions the Corps has ever fielded as 3/9 has a rich history and long tradition of getting it done in the face of great odds so carry their legacy well. I personally had a lot of good Bros I hung with from 3/9 and respect them so much I posted Mike Company's picture in my profile even though I'm 1/9. Best of luck in your new assignment and remember that when the going gets tough, 3/9 gets going because thats when you're at your best.

Welcome back Shadow Warriors, it's damn good to have you around again. You're Striking Ninth Brothers have missed you and now the world can stand by because all we need now is Headquarters Company and the entire Regiment lives! Ur-RAH!

Semper Fi,
Dino

I don't really post in here......but, I must totally agree you Deanosaur. As being with Kilo Co. 3/9 mortar section from 89-93, I believe, I was with the best Bn. in the Corps. I'm happy to see them reactivating the Striking Ninth again to carry on the long and rich history.

Hey,
I was in 3/9 back in 79-80, and when I got state side was placed in 1/7 in san mateo, ca. I can never find much on 3/9 or about it, even when I was in. What happen to them? I was in Wnps Plt, Mos 0341.

Here are some links to get you started.

If you ever run across Luke the Gook (Filipino San Francisco), Brooks Brothers (Soul Brothers from Oakland/Chicago), Spunky (Latino from El Monte CA) or Crazy (Navy Cross Caucasian Sgt. from everywhere on the East Coast) tell them 1/9 Dino (San Francisco) is alive and well here on the boards. Just don't drink beer with them or they'll drain you dry! Ha ha ha suckers can long throat with the best of them.
