I'm looking for a great personalized gift for my best friend who just pinned Master Sgt. we are both 0300, he's now in DC working on the new EFV vehicle...price depends on what i decide on.

You can get a nice, simple 1911 pistol for around $300-$400 at a gunshow. Take the slide to an engraver and have them put "Top Johnson" on the obviously replacing johnson with his name. Add an engraved MSGT chevron and you're GTG! I mena if you're willing to spend $300+ on a gift I can think of no better one than that.

In the end, I know a good beer would just do fine. Maybe a K-bar on a wooden plaque with some type of engraving on it. Whatever gift is given, it will be appreciated.
