I was sent here from the Wannabe forum with a rather simple question relating to a complicated problem. My problem is which MOS to have in my contract Infantry or Aviation.
Are there any of you who, if given the chance to do it all over again would rather enlist under an infantry contract for you first enlistment?
If you hired on as Marine Air Wing designated personnel, then you ought to at least give it a shot. It will not look good for you to be a quitter no matter what. A Marine is a Marine first.

I had a GCT of 169 when I first entered the DEP, with a guarantee in avionics. I thought about it and figured that if I wanted to wrench on planes I would have joined the Air Force. My recruiter was happy to change the contract and I've spent the better part of 2 1/2 decades pounding ground; with no regrets!
