Does any Marine currently serving know if Detachment 1 exist or is it part of MARSOC?

MARDET 1 was a test unit. It no longer exists.
MARSOC currently consists of 2 MSOB's (Marine Special Operations Battalion). Within each MSOB are several MSOC's (Marine Special Operations Company). One MSOC, Fox, within each of the MSOB's is tasked with the Force Recon / Direct Action missions that were originally tested by MARDET 1. ---------------------------------------------------- Semper Fi, DeepRecon Communications Chief http://www.forcerecon.com/ |

Corection:
MSOB's will be made up entirely of companies tasked with the reconnaissance / direct action mission. Foreign military training is tasked to what was the FMTU - Foreign Military Training Unit, which was redesignated MSOAG - Marine Special Operations Advisory Group back in June, 2007. MARSOC elements also include: MSOSG - Marine Special Operations Support Group MSOS - Marine Special Operations School ---------------------------------------------------- Semper Fi, DeepRecon Communications Chief http://www.forcerecon.com/ |

and how exactly does the MSOSG work?? I've got orders over to det W after this MEU. I'm wondering how everything operates over there. I'm guessing that certain marines from the MSOSG are atttached to the deploying MSOC, but i'm not too sure.
