What is that assembly over the boat ramps? It kinda looks like the "monkee bars" I played on in elementary school. I'm just curious as to what it is and it's purpose..

That would be the gantry crane allowing us to move a boat from the stern ranp to their resting location.

Thanks Chief, I thought it might be something like that, just kinda stands out to me and looks out of place..enjoy your new ship like most of the old guys on here and the other site that won't be named, I'm jealous of you all. Sherman was a little over 10 years old when I reported aboard her in 79, that was a new ship then!
