Being a previous 378's crewmember (Chase 83-84) I sure like the looks of the Bertholf. I hope it turns out to be a big success once the bugs are worked out.
21yrsUSCG - I imagine there will be a major effort to work out the bugs during the trials. The Coast Guard realizes the success of the Bertholf is key to the success of Deepwater. I imagine that the shipbuilder has been very thorough with making sure that any bugs get fixed in order to make sure the Bertholf trials are publicly declared a success.
Prior to the 378's the Caodt Guard had 327's, 311's and 255's. When I first saw a 378' I was completely blown away by its lines. Then I saw the inside....and was even more blown away by the living spaces.
The new ship looks very impressive from the outside. If it ever pulls into Phoenix maybe I can get a tour.
Hey how about some photos of the inside(non classified spaces of course)I have been waiting to get a gander at the inside for a while. What gives. I am tired of seeing another angle of the rudder how about a shot of the living quarters and mess decks already!!!!
