But if you're heading to the special gate that leads over to Fiddlers Green, theres's no need for explaining. That spot is reserved for Sailors

Guns; I will be there waiting with a passel of San Miguel.Sixty years ago we bought it for cigarettes.Six cents a pack, and as a non smoker, this was cumshaw material.
In those days only B.M and G.M would drink the warm beer.

My favorite San Miguel was the one I'd buy in the morning at Adeline's, right outside the gate in Cavite. The beer had been on ice all night and was half frozen. Helped with the headache....... Beer

Must have changes. Cavite was still a relatively small place when I was there a million years ago (OK, 37)

And when in Subic, NEVER STOP walking on the bridge over **** River. Good way to get swarnmed by h***sters, pickpockets, shoe shine boys, etc.

It has changed a lot since I was there in 65 and 66. and yes, I am one of the many who lost wallet, money and ID card. I even seen the 10 yr. old kid that took it. He hit me at a dead run right in the middle of the busy side walk. Plucked my wallet right off my belt. (old dress whites W/jumper) Thats where all the cool sailors wore their wallets. Needless to say, after I was a cool sailor, I became a smart sailor and found another place to carry my wallet. Good times. Thanks for the memories. Dave
