When I was on a 87 we used to have this Reveille pipe that was more like a poem, I cant remember the name of it nore do i remember most of the words in it. All I really remember is that it was peacefull waking up to and alot better that that same old revielle pipe that gets used every single day. i believe it went something like this...."the captain is in his cabin.....the cooks are in the galley..." there was alot more to it but those are all the words i remember and we had the current WX incorperated with it. but i guess my question to you guys are if you know of this Revielle Poem or know of any good ones that yall used through out the years. well thanks for your time.
In 1963, in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico, aboard the USCGC Nike (WPC112), the watch (OOD, JOOD, QMOW, BMOW, Helmsman and Lookout) woke up the crew on the 1MC with the following: Good morning to you, Good morning to you, We're all in our places with bright shiny faces for this is the way to start a new day, Good morning to you.
I hated waking up in a coffin a rack that was lifted and locked in the up position, at a 45 degree angle, thanks to someone trying to be funny. It was so hard to crawl out. especially from the top bunk.
Only reveille I remember is what EX_CG_GM said. I hated reveille but I kinda enjoyed piping it cuz I was already up! One radio room I was at had two mikes next to each other. One was on a busy air to ground freq the other was the base PA system. One morning I inadvertantly picked up the A/G mike instead of the P/A and piped reveille. If any pilots were dozing I woke em up.
