Has anyone gotten a "discount rate" from Verizon Wireless for their cell phone service? I tried asking at the store, said go on line or fill out this form and mail it. On line I was told the US Coast Guard does not have an agreement.

I get my discount...Went to the local store filled at the paperwork and showed them my CAC card and I was GTG...Drop me an email if you have any issues...I know a manager at the local store who could help you out via a phone call...

Sprint offers the discount also. Been getting it for about 5 years.

I get a discount from Verizon Wireless because I work for a school district in Texas. I just showed my school district ID and got the discount.

Went into Sprint Store with ID. They set up the discount. I think it's 10%. Young marine son gets it also. As far as I know it applies to any plan.

Coast Guard doesn't need to have an agreement with Verizon in order to get discount. My husband and I both receive the discount on our lines with Verizon. As far as Sprint, we had them before Verizon and we had NOTHING but problems with them...had a phone break 4 times and I insisted on getting our money back for the phone with no luck...that is until I wrote a personal letter to the CEO of Sprint Smile It shouldn't have taken all that though. Either way, GOOD LUCK with whichever company you choose Smile

Phones are not produced by Sprint, so I assume you had problems with your LG, Moto, Sanyo or a Samsung phone? After 30 days, if you don't have protection coverage, your stuck sending the phone BACK to the manufacture for repair. Been there.. done that. You will find this with any cell phone provider. 4 times? I am wondering, was it the same problem each time? Unless you got a good store manager, sometimes, they will just replace the phone over the counter w/o protection coverage. That's not corp policy but they do sometimes stick out their necks. Sprint and AT&T extends the percentage off to active duty and retired. If you advise Sprint prior to deployments, they will suspend the account till you return and the time goes toward your contract time. They use to charge a 5.00 monthly fee just to keep your account active but you don't pay the whole amount.
