Don - congrats on rasing a fine son. Might I suggest you give him the lecture on adding bran to his diet? From the look on his face, he might need to know that info!

Marines never smile for the camera, they learn that in boot camp!

Donnie called yesterday from Camp Lejeune all happy and relieved. In bootcamp on the M-16, he qualified as Marksman saying he rushed too much. Yesterday he shot Expert on the A-4 so he is so happy.


Guess he can give me back my USCG M-16 Expert Medal I loaned him.

Thanks Jeff. I don't know if you are aware but my younger brother is at the CG MSST in Kings Bay, GA as well. He's a BM/Cox'n. I'm proud of him as well.

Congrats Marine Dad and welcome to the club. I have 2 in the Corps. Your right, the smile goes away in boot camp. Even after the grad. fm boot camp, MCRD San Diego in our case, still no smiles. Once you get them home its a different story. Very few things in this life can bring you more pride.
