I sure hope Obama is the Democrat nominee. If he is the nominee, there is no chance in hell that Hillary would accept the VP position.
Obama is popular among democrats but there is no way in hell he can win the presidency. He is far to far to the left. The word "liberal" is what sunk Kerry and America doesn't like our leader to be this far left. Bill Clinton won, because he fooled America into believing he was in the middle. But America knows that Obama owns the liberal title. It would be like expecting a Pat Robertson on the right to win. If he were to be able to get Hillary for the VP spot, it might make the choice a little better but she wouldn't ever play 2nd fiddle again. She already had that under Bill. However, if Hillary is the nominee, Obama would accept the VP. It would give him the experience he currently is completely lacking and put him in line for the president in 8 years. This would be a scary thought. Hillary has a better chance of winning than Obama and with both on the ticket, she'd have all those that supported Obama. AND, we'd likely be stuck with a liberal for 16 years. Right now this is within parties. Terms like "liberal", "tax and spend", "voting record", "anti-war liberal", "socialist", "social programs", "welfare" aren't the subject of the debates. But it will be, when it's between McCain and Obama or even McCain and Hillary. The word "liberal" doesn't get anyone elected. So, in my opinion, if Obama wins the democratic nomination, say hello to President John McCain. He draws from the left, the middle, the right and the far right. He'd be a shoe-in. Go Obama! |

I understand what you are saying Mike but I have just the opposite opinion. People are no longer voting with any logic or looking at the issues... Obama has achieved rock star status and has turned this into a popularity contest. I think McCain would beat Hillary... she has so many negatives built up against her he would really have to f---up to lose it. |

True! But he's only popular among the left. Many that are voting for a more middle (albiet far left) Hillary, will vote for McCain, when it's a choice between Obama and McCain. Many of her supporters can't stand Obama, for obvious reasons. And without Hillary, he would lose those. And with the attacks he has made or her and visa versa, their party is divided. See, McCain still gets almost all from the right, and with Obama, he'll get many from the left. Obama is far too left. And McCain does draw from the right, middle (especially) and the left. |

Most Americans don't even know what a true "conservative" or "liberal" even is....

Let's see shall we...
Conservative: in favor of preserving the status quo and traditional values and customs, and against abrupt change. Liberal: favoring gradual reform, especially political reforms that extend democracy, distribute wealth more evenly, and protect the personal freedom of the individual |

I will endeavor to get the my vote for the "hero" in McCain, not the zero in "0"bama.
I see the McCain family leads by generations of service to country, not by leading off every speech with by steering the unwilling and unexceptional with motovational speeches laced with words like "hope"/"change".... |

Do you think Americans care more about the policies of govt in America or the process of govt in America?

I think they are more concerned about the process than the policies. A prime example is here on the boards. People do not take the time to read Bills, Executive Orders or the Code of Federal Regulations to understand what the Government is doing, for good or bad. If people took the time to do a little research, there could be meaningful discussions and we can agree to disagree. Instead, people get butt-hurt because we don't agree with them on everything. It's all about compromise so that the greater good is accomplished. I am middle of the road, and am not a Republican or Democrat, here in Maryland I am considered "Unaffiliated" and generally can not vote in the primaries. There are some things each party does that I agree and disagree with. But right now, I am leaning towards the Republicans because of Sen. McCain. This message has been edited. "I'm voting for Obama, because he's for change, and if we don't change, we will remain unchanged, so I'm for change. Also, he's for our future, because the future is ahead of us and our past is behind us, so I'm for our future because the past is history, and now is the present..."
