F-yeah! I posted something worthy of a temporary position at the top of the forum!

This isn't mine, but I feel that this particular joke will be generally well-received here. Enjoy:

Sarah Palin is invited to meet with the Pope while he is vacationing in Venice.

The liberal press reluctantly watches the semi-private audience, hoping they will be able to allot minimal coverage, if any.

The Pope asks Governor Palin to join him on a Gondola ride through the canals of Venice.

They're admiring the sights and agreeing on moral issues when, all of a sudden, the Pope's hat (zucchetto) blows off his head and out into the water.

The gondolier starts to reach for the Pontiff's cap with his pole, but this move threatens to overturn the floating craft.

Sarah waves the tour guide off, saying, 'Wait, wait. I'll take care of this. Don't worry.'

She steps off the gondola onto the surface of the water and walks out to the Pope's hat, bends over and picks it up. She walks back across the water to the gondola and steps aboard. She hands the hat to the Pope amid stunned silence.

The next morning the topic of conversation among Democrats in Congress, CBS News, NBC News, ABC News, CNN, the New York Times, Hollywood celebrities, and in France and Germany is:
'Palin Can't Swim.'

Here's a transcript of the Couric interview where it came up. I do believe that when the state that you preside over is that short a distance to a country like Russia, AND you have Canada on your other border, you DO get involved in Foriegn Policy, one way or the other.

COURIC: You've cited Alaska's proximity to Russia as part of your foreign policy experience. What did you mean by that?

PALIN: That Alaska has a very narrow maritime border between a foreign country, Russia, and on our other side, the land-- boundary that we have with-- Canada. It-- it's funny that a comment like that was-- kind of made to-- cari-- I don't know, you know? Reporters--

COURIC: Mock?

PALIN: Yeah, mocked, I guess that's the word, yeah.

COURIC: Explain to me why that enhances your foreign policy credentials.

PALIN: Well, it certainly does because our-- our next door neighbors are foreign countries. They're in the state that I am the executive of. And there in Russia--

COURIC: Have you ever been involved with any negotiations, for example, with the Russians?

PALIN: We have trade missions back and forth. We-- we do-- it's very important when you consider even national security issues with Russia as Putin rears his head and comes into the air space of the United States of America, where-- where do they go? It's Alaska. It's just right over the border. It is-- from Alaska that we send those out to make sure that an eye is being kept on this very powerful nation, Russia, because they are right there. They are right next to-- to our state.

Oh and to remind you...WHAT foriegn policy experience does OBAMA have besides being born in a FORIEGN country, living in Indonesia attending a muslim school, and have a father from Kenya? NONE, BIG FAT ZERO, HUGE GOOSE EGG, etc.

Didn't even answer her question, IMO.

"Trade missions" decent answer but...she could have elaborated on that w/out going into the fluff...

Her response was like a 9th grade HS paper...a subject in one sentence...then a paragraph that goes on a tangent that has nothing to do with "trade missions".

You may be correct but, I will give you three guess's about who is the POTUS and who just recently resigned her job. I'll give you a hint on who the POTUS is. His initials are BHO. Semper Fidelis. Blackcoat.

Hey BlackCoat,
That still doesn't change the facts. She still has more experience than he does, ALL AROUND. She explained why she resigned her job. The only difference in that arena between her an Nobama, is the fact that he DIDN'T resign his Senate seat when he decided to hit the campaign trail for TWO YEARS. Rendering his Senate Seat totally ineffective.

I like the joke. That is what the media would see. The see Russia statement was made by TinaFey on SNL. From then on it was quoted as if Sarah had said it.

Nope, still stands. The only experience he has gained other than site seeing is his teleprompter certification and he still can't handle himself when they have a glitch. Nuff said.

before posting things which is based off of haters get your facts first. http://www.factcheck.org/elect...born_in_the_usa.html

Besides isn't it bad for a service man or woman to talk bad about the president? So what if he was in Indonesia and IF it were true he went to a Muslim school what does that matter? FYI Indonesia itself is Predominately Muslim like America is Predominately Christian. There are people who attend Catholic schools who aren't of that faith cause their parents put them there. I fail to see how any of those false claims from people who uses fear to sway people has anything to do with Foreign Policy. I can't understand how anyone can be so openly blind. And what is wrong about having a father from a different country? My father is Bermudan does that make me less of an American citizen even though I was born here?

Hey the blue above was a direct transcript of the interview. What problem do you have with what I said...Let's break it down shall we?

quote:
WHAT foriegn policy experience does OBAMA have besides being born in a FORIEGN country, living in Indonesia attending a muslim school, and have a father from Kenya? NONE, BIG FAT ZERO, HUGE GOOSE EGG, etc.

Now make sure you read what I wrote...

What foriegn experience does he have? He was, I believe, born in a foriegn country. I don't care what FactCheck.org says. If he wasn't then he needs to prove it himself. Too many questions out there to leave it open like this.

He did live in Indonesia and attended a muslim school. That does not give him foriegn policy experience either.

His father WAS from Kenya. That also doesn't give him foreign policy experience.

YOUR father being from Bermuda does not give you foriegn policy experience, so where does Obama get his? He doesn't have any.

By the way, I am no longer in the Marine Corps, so my opinion actually counts now. I don't like this no nothing president and if he were in front of me right now, I would tell him so.

He is a teleprompter with legs and a puppet to Rahm Emanual and the Chicago Chieftians.

Marinelover0107: Just remember, you are here at our descretion. You aren't even a Wannabe yet, so please don't comment on something that you have no experience dealing with.

Most Male Marines and some Female Marines have more foriegn country experience than the current sitting President, so please...

My Father being from Bermuda does give me some experience considering he took me to Bermuda to meet my family(He became a U.S. citizen shortly after meeting my mother). And I lived in Japan for awhile and was immersed in the culture, as well as when he was in the Marines my mother and I moved around with him(He is Retired now). I am a Marine Daughter and a Marine Wife and Majority of my family are Marines. I have been to a lot of places around the world because of my father and my family so please don't assume I have no foreign country experience.

No, you are not a Marine, so you can not possibly know what it is like to be one. You just don't know until you have gone threw it.

If you're a Marine Wife, you're an awefully young one. Your profile says you are "considering joining" and E-1. The E-1 needs to be removed. That would indicate you graduated BootCamp and you have not.

I applaud you for putting up with so many Marines around you, but it is not the same.

Where in my posts did I accuse you of not have experience in a Foriegn Country? I don't know you, so why would I make that association. Reread exactly what I said. If you find where I assume you have no foriegn country experience, please point it out.

As for the E-1 I can not remove it. It doesn't have a blank block for it in the drop down menu And I have been around Marines my whole life so i have a pretty good idea and i hear them talk about everything. Anyway I will know soon enough my height waiver got approved and i can finally take my physical and get sworn in and pick a ship date.
