This morning, I am sitting here reading the latest on the Iran intel debacle. As a former Marine, I am torn by what I am reading and also the current war in Iraq. On one hand, I want to throw on the cammies again and go kick some butt. On the other hand, I have to admit that I have my doubts about what our national policy is doing to the country.

The media accounts on the Iran intel issue are almost universally negative towards the President. That bothers me intenseley. He is our commander in chief after all. There are also other reports that the state department has known for years that Iran was not developing the big "bomb". That is disconcerting news if true. How could this intel not make its way to the President's office?

So, as a former Marine and the owner of a business that serves the military community, I find myself for the first time ever second guessing what we are doing over there. Perhaps it is because I am far removed from the active duty soldiers I once served with or perhaps it is because I am watching the value of the US dollar plummit. Who knows?

Any other Marines out there struggling with this same type of inner battle? It's a weird thing for me...

Steve

Mod Edit: Commercial SPAM removed.

It's still commercial SPAM over here too.

Liberals and the MSM have been discounting our intelligence agencies for quite some time now, and then along comes this NIE, and all of a sudden liberals and the media now believe everything our intelligence agencies are saying? Iran is still a threat and needs to be dealt with.

Russia had 40,000+ Nuclear weapons in the Cold war, and we resolved the situation peacefully.

Iran does not have any nuclear weapons.

Meanwhile, the media is busy trying to sell another war to the brainwashed American public. It's quite disturbing.

Spamming? Last I checked, I posted in a political board full of different opinions.

IMHO.. I don't see how people can be looking for another war, When.. our military is stretched thin, our nation is drowning in debt, and there really IS no threat to our freedom or national sovereignty.

I hope you don't question my patriotism. I swore to defend the constitution TWICE... and I understand and feel deeply about it.

No,not me,hell I agree with you.

My reply was more in anticipation of the type of response I have come to expect when a post that doesn't toe the bush admin line receives here.
