Former NYPD commissioner Kerik pleads guilty to lying to White House

What crime is it to lie to the White House? The White House isn't a court or judicial office.

And if "lying to" is a crime, shouldn't "lying from" be equally a crime?

Inquiring minds want to know.

PS: Wouldn't this technically be a little white lie, if it was a lie to the White House. Wink

No, I think the article might have phrased this incorrectly. The guy in question was applying for a Federal Cabinet level position or Cabinet Level Assist Poistion? if I am not mistaken and he lied on the form that was filled out.

Or is that a incorrect guess on my part?

I remember that guys name from somewhere and I think he was trying to ride Guiliani's coat tails into a higher position in the Federal Government but got fouled up somewhere.
