Yeah, Jacksonville, N.C., the CG from Lejeune can go over to the Olympic village and post his off limits list. They'd still end up at the Driftwood anyway. |

Maybe it's just me, but I'm laughing my a$$ off just thinking about people flying in by the thousands on those friggin' crop dusters and all the shuttle drivers doubling and tripling their rates. |

Just let me do some simple math
Thousands of additional flights landing at the Chicago airport thousands of toursts renting hotels,,,houses ,,anythng with four walls, Every rental car company renting out everything they own,,, plus gas in the rentals. Every restaurant packed azzhole to belly button with tourists. Joe the ragman vendor outside the Olympic venues selling a $5.oo t-shirt for $20,00. Not to mention the construction boom Naah,,,, Fu(k it,,,, we dont need $hit lke that!! Shrugs; Wonder how much Pittsburgh steel and Temple-Inland lumber(southeast Texas product) we would use on a project like this. Now we need nails (Duo-Fast) and weding rods (Air-Gas) We also need an Army of truck drivers years prior to opening day,, running up and down Americas roads,hauling $hit to Chicago, buying diesesl and eating at the mom and pop joints between point A and point B,,, and them taking money back home to Anytown, USA I also need another army of security guards walking post on every job site (this is Chicago folks,,I heard there were a couple of thieves out there.) Wonder how much money all the construction workers would take back to Anytown USA and pay their mortgage,,,buy groceries,, put braces on ther kids teeth?? I worked the Atlanta Olympics,,,,got done there and moved on to the next job,, then the next one Thats kinda how the industry works. |

Cant solve everything..I am only pointing out the jobs lost in the constructon industry and the ripple effect.

Well Mr. 1965 I guess you know everything there is to know about the Olympic Games.
Just one question who was going to pay for all this stuff? Federal Government is broke and getting deeper in debt everyday. {All poltician's at fault} The city of Chicago is broke. I have heard that the city offices are only open four days per week to save money. There was a poll that came out last week of the people who live in Chicago. 50% did not want the Olympic Games in there city. Racking up more and more debt is not the answer. The only ones who would really make out on this are the crook's. Chicago and Washington have plenty. |

Every restaurant is gong to be packed for years with out of state workers,,, then with tourists. Taxes,, additional revenue. Besides,,, we get paid to build it not worry about where the money comes from. Drive by one of YOUR steel milla in YOUR backyard and ask yourself this., "How many additional loads of steel woul be leaving out of here on a daily basis if the Olympics had come to Chicago" Give me a number of loads per day and lets figure out how much money your state is losing!! I am sure all your mllls are up at runninng at 110% and all your neighbors are cranking out 12 hour days to keep up with demand!! (snicker) |

I thought I made it clear (at least to those that know how to read and think for themselves) I do not view this as a Obama issue. I view this as an employment opportunity with plenty of overtime.
