WHITE GUILT IS DEAD

By Tom Adkins

Look at my fellow conservatives! There they go, glumly shuffling along, depressed by the election aftermath. Not me. I 'm virtually euphoric. Don 't get me wrong. I 'm not thrilled with America 's flirtation with neo socialism. But there 's a massive silver lining in those magical clouds that lofted Barak Obama to the Presidency. For today, without a shred of intellectually legitimate opposition, I can loudly proclaim to America : The Era of White Guilt is over.

This seemingly impossible event occurred because the vast majority of white Americans didn 't give a fluff about skin color, and enthusiastically pulled the voting lever for a black man. Not just any black man. A very liberal black man who spent his early career race-hustling banks, praying in a racist church for 20 years, and actively worked with America-hating domestic terrorists. Wow! Some resume! Yet they made Barak Obama their leader. Therefore, as of Nov 4th, 2008, white guilt is dead.

For over a century, the millstone of white guilt hung around our necks, retribution for slave-owning predecessors. In the 60s, American liberals began yanking that millstone while sticking a fork in the eye of black Americans, exacerbating the racial divide to extort a socialist solution. But if a black man can become President, exactly what significant barrier is left? The election of Barak Obama absolutely destroys the entire validation of liberal white guilt. The dragon is hereby slain.

So today, I 'm feeling a little u ppity, if you will. From this day forward, my tolerance level for having my skin color hustled is now exactly ZERO. And it 's time to clean house. No more Reverend Wright 's "God Damn America ", Al Sharpton 's Church of Perpetual Victimization , or Jesse Jackson ' s rainbow racism. Cornell West? You 're a fraud. Go home. All those " black studies " programs that taught kids to hate whitey? You must now thank whitey. And I want that on the final.

Congressional Black Caucus? Irrelevant. Maxine Waters? Shut up. ACORN? Outlawed. Black Panthers? Go home and pet your kitty. Black separatists? Find another nation that offers better dreams. Go ahead. I ' m waiting.

Gangsta rappers? Start praising America . Begin with the Pledge of Allegiance. And please…no more ebonics. Speak English, and who knows where you might end up? Oh, yeah…pull up your pants. Your underwear is showing. You look stupid.

To those Eurosnots who forged entire careers hating America ? I ' m still waiting for the first black French President.

And let me offer an equal opportunity whupping. I 've always despised lazy white people. Now, I can talk smack about lazy black people. You 're poor because you quit school, did drugs, had three kids with three different fathers, and refuse to work. So when you plop your Colt 45-swilling, Oprah watchin ' butt on the couch and complain " Da Man is keepin ' me down " Allow me to inform you: Da Man is now black. You have no excuses.

No more quotas No more handouts. No more stealing my money because someone 's great-great-great-great grandparents suffered actual pain and misery at the hands of people I have no relation to, and personally revile.

It 's time to toss that massive, obsolete race-hustle machine upon the heap of the other stupid 60s ideas. Drag it over there, by wife swapping, next to dope-smoking Plenty of room right between free love and cop-killing. Careful don 't trip on streaking. There ya go, don 't be gentle. Just dump it. Wash your hands. It ' s filthy.

In fact, Obama's ascension created a gargantuan irony. How can you sell class envy and American unfairness when you and your black wife went to Ivy League schools, got high-paying jobs, became millionaires, bought a mansion, and got elected President? How unfair is that??? Now, Like a delicious O'Henry tale, Obam 's spread-the-wealth campaign rendered itself moot by it's own victory! America is officially a meritocracy. Obama 's election has validated American conservatism!

So, listen carefull - Wham!!! That 's the sound of my foot kicking the door shut on the era of white guilt. The rites have been muttered, the carcass lowered, dirt shoveled, and tombstone erected. White guilt is dead and buried.

However, despite my glee, there 's apparently one small, rabid bastion of American racism remaining. Black Americans voted 96% for Barak Obama. Hmmm. In a color-blind world, shouldn 't that be 50-50? Tonight, every black person should ask forgiveness for their apparent racism and prejudice towards white people. Maybe it 's time to start spreading the guilt around.

Great article,John.I really liked at the end when he said "Black Americans".This African American bull shat has to quit. The majority,if any, were born in Africa, the same for their grand parents and great-great grand parents. We are ALL Americans, regaurdless of color. If you don't like that, move to another country.

I doubt very much if white guilt is dead. The election results can be viewed as the manifestation of white guilt but there is alot ahead that has to be dealt with... we've heard of all the welfare programs coming down the road.... but how long will it be before we hear the word "reparations" again??

My wife was watching that tv show, "Chocolate News", with David Alan Grier. He was doing a skit that had to do with reparations, and if white people are off the hook, now. Guess what he said? Not a chance. Even with a black president-elect, whites are still the evil-doers. His skit is a sobering example of art imitating life. We are firmly entrenched in a "have my cake and eat it , too" attitude in respect to this topic. The bumpy ride has only just begun, and us whites are the one's with terminal hemorrhoids. It's gonna hurt.

What is really disturbing, and sad, is the display of non-withheld contempt/hatred/racism being shown by blacks toward whites with this election. THat show was horrible. And it's not the only place on tv/media I have seen it. It concerns me, because I really wonder how many of my co-workers and friends that are black have the same attitude? I've never really cared about skin color. I care about what kind of a person you are. But now, the closeted black racists are really coming out. It's just going to make things even harder for everyone.

My sentiments exactly, Gene. I have already picked up some "vibs" from some black friends I have been extremely close to for 20 years. It makes me wonder what their true feelings are... and it makes me think that they can be the real racists in the relationship.

Although I disagree with most sentiments in the article posted, I no longer say African-American.

Black, White Asian, Hispanic. etc.

Not all people that are black are from Africa.

Stupid to put American with it. I mean, who really cares? I don't get my ethnicity mentioned, I'm white.

Many of the laws that have been written in an attempt to right the wrongs of the past should have never been written. Some very smart and forward thinking individuals wrote some very interesting documents when this United States of America originated.
Too bad that the white man did not pay attention to "All men are created equal" for starters.
Segregation happened, discrimination happened, ride in the back of the bus happened, "whites only happened," and may I add, "Indians need not apply." Add to that "all that mexicans can do is pick lettuce" and many more unhuman acts that some believe are not happening today.
Because Senator Obama was elected to be the 44th president of these great United States of America does not end discrimation, and some segregation towards blacks, Indians, Mexicans, and anyone else that does not fit the anglo mold.
So if you think that white guilt, your words, is dead who knows. I know that people do not change because of one certain event, in this instance an individual who is half-white is going to be sworn in to be the 44th president of the United States of America.
In order for one to change one must want to change and work at it. I know I have changed because I needed to, wanted to and feel better about myself and treat others with mucho understanding. Semper Fidelis. Blackcoat.

I definitely agree with Blackcoat. Maybe in time, with understanding of different cultures and beliefs, "one" becomes tolerant!

I am aware personas thrive in other similar environments, but it is ultimately up to ones
self to "Man Up"! I hope this statement is not vague to you!

I've never felt guilt about this issue. I never owned slaves, I don't practice racism, I don't affiliate with racist groups. I have been, simply because I'm white, stereoptyped and villified as a racist. I've been called racist epithets, including cracker, ******-wood, white-boy, etc. I had a co-worker and supervisor that was Native American / Filipino that would go off on a rant, in the workplace, and say stuff like "You (f-word-ing) white people stole my land", and similar statements. But, since I'm white, I have to take it. And, if I try to complain, nothing is done. As a Police Officer, I have investigated CLEAR race based hate crimes against white people by blacks, native Americans and hispanic/latinos, but the adminstration and or prosecutor refuse to treat it as a hate crime. It's a double standard, and pathetic.

Just remember bro, racism isn't restricted to Caucasians and they're not the only ones in this world to practice or have practiced it.

Growing up in the Filipino Community in Southern California, I knew Filipinos who didn't like African Americans and passed that on to their kids. I'm embarassed to say I have relatives who are like that too.

I'm also embarassed to hear about a couple of Filipinos who take the race thing too seriously when that boxer from the Philippines fights a Mexican Boxer.

You think maybe the Filipinos should blame the White Folks for that? You think I should feel guilty because my folks and other relatives didn't think highly of blacks?

Yes, it's terrible what "White America" did in the past: slavery; segregation laws; liberate other countries only to want to have it for their own territory (like the Philippines); the list goes on. it's embarassing, and we can learn on from those tragedies, but why do we need to also dwell on those things?

As a Filipino minority in his late 30s, I guess that's all easy for me to say since I've had no racial bias done against me growing up and also in my professional life both military and civilian. It's also easy for me to read history and what wrongs have been done in this country in the past. Does it make me angry? Sure it does! Especially when I read about the liberation of the Philippines from the Spaniards by America only for America to want to have the PI as their territory.

But what good does staying mad about what happened many many decades ago will do? Especially since I wasn't a part of it?

You are definitely right when you said, "White men did not pay attention to 'All men are created equal'" when the Declaration was signed. But you know what? We've come along way from that. We're not perfect, I don't know that we'll get to it, but we're more equal now than before.

Just my 2 cents from me, a youngster! Wink

The United States of America, is still in It's infancy, if you will. What this Country has achieved in It's short span of History since It's Declaration of Independence of the Colonies from Great Britian is remarkable!!!

Compared to other Nations and Government's, WE have a distinct quality among US. No other Nation is like the U.S.A!

Our History will no doubt reflect Our past! It is Our future that WE need to continue to strive for. Not only in Respect, but Our continued effort in Being a Beacon of Freedom! And yes, Freedom has it's limitations~

Most of us know that Africa is a continent. So how many white folks refer to the European continent as where they are from? No, if they are inclined to call themselves a hypenated-American, they refer to the country of origin.

My guess as to why African-Americans have no clue as to where their ancestors originated is that when their predecessors were spirited away from Mother Africa, there were no countries per se. The Dark Continent was totally tribal and "countries" did not exist.

We honkies didn't have the luxury.

Go on liberty we white boys were high and tight. Let me restate that. We were just high. Whoops. That sounds like drugs. I mean tight as in drunk. Damn it! I mean high and tight as in haircuts. Red Face The splibs had their fro's. Eek Cool

A recommendation 7174...Next time you fill out anything that asks for race think about the following....Don't complete it, omit the part about race/ethnicity, or write in "American."

Agreed...but too many second or third generation (or more) hyphenated-Amaricans feel the need to get back to their "true roots" and they proceed to hyphenate their ancestory all over again. And I know that grandpa is probably spinning in his grave when that happens.
