Basic Training |
Hi all -
I'm curious about OSI from a ROTC perspective. Am a double-major in Int'l Politics and Russian, minor in Arabic at Penn State. I know that you cannot go immediately into OSI. Would intel or MP be a better option leading in, or are they relatively equal? There's also a summer program where cadets shadow OSIs that if anyone knows more about, it would help to have the info. Also, I thought this was a field very competitive to get into but posts I've been reading don't portray it that way. Any help here? I took the ASVAB and got 3 below the max and was dead set on rescue swimming for Navy but ultimately thought again about getting my degree...obviously not relevant to ROTC but I do want a job with some excitement. Thanks in advance! |

OSI and Security Forces are two completely different career fields, so how "competitive" one field is has no bearing on how competitive the other one will be.
I've had quite a few dealing with OSI. Some agents were pretty good, so were middling, some were Maxwell Smart wannabes. Kinda like the SF career field come to think of it.... |

You can apply to OSI directly out of ROTC.
Take a look at this link and you'll find most of the information you need. http://ask.afpc.randolph.af.mil/main_content.asp?prods1...ds5=237&p_faqid=6049 |

What ROTC are you in? If you're Army, you won't be applying for OSI. You have to put in for MPI or CID.
You can apply for OSI, if you're AFROTC. As with the AFPC/Randolph website above, you'll have to find out, when they're accepting applications and meet specific deadlines. http://www.osi.andrews.af.mil/ This message has been edited. Last edited by: Torch8306, "VIA UNA COR UNUM" |
