I was at Ellsworth AFB from 1982 - 1988 and assigned to the 44th Missile Security Squadron. I was on Crew 7 at first then I worked for a short time on a Special Duty Assignment as an Alert Force Controller at the Bomber Alert Facility there at Ellsworth. I then went back out in the field where I spent my the rest of my entire time.

I am a Senior Airman and have been in the AF for almost four years now. I will be testing for Staff when I return from my TDY. I was first stationed at the 8th SFS/SFOA Kunsan AB, ROK from July '01 to July '02. I then PCS'd to the 43rd SFS/SFOC at Pope AFB, NC where I am currently stationed. I have been TDY to Prince Sultan AB, KSA from Mar. 03 to Apr. and Jun to July 03. From Apr to Jun I was forward deployed to a Classified location. I left Pope back in Mar this year to go TDY to the 887th ESFS/Customs at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait. We are attached to the ARMY. I left Arifjan in the middle of June to come up here to the 887th ESFS/Customs Det. 1 at Balad AB, Iraq AKA: Camp Anaconda. I can't wait until this TDY is over and I can get back home to some peace and quiet. These mortar attacks everyday are getting on my nerves. Needless to say since I am getting short it seems like they are getting closer.

Vorpal, any rumors about whether the Marshals will open 1811 hiring to people from other agencies? Wink

I work for a very small OIG - too small to broadcast on an open forum. Wink

I like what I do now, but we occassionally do some fugitive stuff, and those cases are fascinating, and I wouldn't mind doing more.

Thanks! I'll do that, but it looks like I'll be out west for at least the next year. The new guy doesn't get the good trips. Wink That and NY has lots of their own folks so it's doubtful I would get pulled to go there. However, if the need arises I would like to go. NYC is one of the places I haven't been to yet. Somehow with all my travelling I've missed that city.

RogerOT- Have heard from a few guys that tested awhile ago that they are getting calls for interviews. I don't think that helps you right now but maybe they are clearing up the old lists so they can do a new test.

Vorpal,

Are we talking about 082 or 1811? I'd love to be an 1811 DUSM, but I'm not going to give up my current 1811 gig to be 082. Too much at risk with that strategy.

If it's 082 jobs, that's good news for some folks I know who have been waiting for 082 openings. If it's 1811 do you know if USMS will accept a passing TEA score from another agency?

Thanks.

If you want to pull some of my comments to RogerOT out to streamline this thread go ahead. I'm sure there are not too many people interested.

Yeah, sorry to sidetrack to the discussion.

If I could get the mil.com email to work this wouldn't be necessary.

I'm new to this thread,I served as an SP for 4 years (all at Barksdale,LA).I seperated as a SrA. I just got out June 04. I tried to get a contract to work security in Iraq but I couldn't get my passport from the State Department in time before the slot closed.(I was very close)But i'm still trying to get a contract in between going to school at York colleg of PA.Anyways,if I don't get a contract i might go back into the service (marines or army I don't know)I really want to get into this fight on terrorism and i'm sick of sitting around here in my parent's basement reading college books all day.
