Thanks Anthony USAF but that didn't answer the question. I understand it is 18 weeks now. What training was added to extend it to 18 weeks is what I would like to know?
It is still only 13 weeks right now but I did hear it is getting moved up to 18 weeks in a few months. One thing they are doing is making Camp Bullis 6 weeks. But I do not know what else they are adding to it and I could be wrong about all of it, so dont take my word on it.But I do know for sure as of right now it is still 13 weeks.
I know I've been out for quite a bit (ETS'd in '92), but "making Bullis 6 weeks?" I remember Bullis being six weeks and if you went through 60 school add another week. Bullis was also not mandatory for everyone. If you were selected (no idea of the how's or why's some were and some weren't) for ABGD you went. Is it now part of the cop tech school and required for everyone?
This is AFSF2007 and yes tech school used to be 10 weeks and now it is 13 weeks and everyone has to go to Bullis for 3 weeks. It is broken down into 3 areas the first area is Law Enforcement 2 area is C.A.T.M and the 3 area is Integrated Base Defense which is just combat training.

The link was to show you that people were asking the same thing already over there and that no one knew...just like your responses show over here.
the rumor going around the squadron right now. I'm in the 343rd, the training squadron for SF. Is that yes the school will be bumped up to 18 weeks, when basic goes to 8 weeks. And yes the added part will go to Bullis, which in my eyes is a great idea, our mission is changing to a more "combative role." I graduate Monday, and Bullis was my favorite part of training. Bullis will make or break teams, or a person. Bullis is not really to hard physically, but more mentally, the heat, the MRE's. I had a great group of instructors, I had ex ravens, ex Army Rangers, and an ex Paratrooper. We were pushed pretty hard, had to take a lot of the hills. every where we went, we were running.
My advice to anybody going to Bullis, is to watch out for "sniper" rocks. We had a few people go down because of ankle and knee injuries.
1986 Camp Bullis Air Force Security Police Academy was six weeks and Air Base Ground Defense (ABGD) was six weeks, 60/M-19 were an additional week. Loved ABGD ....when we were off they had a big pool we use to all go swimming in, that water was cold!! They moved ABGD to Ft. Dix for a few years; Army trying to Instruct Air Force I heard was a trip!
