Hi all. I found this video looking through some archives. Can anyone tell me who is riding on these vehicles? Are they SF? Whoever it is, they look pretty motivated to me.

It clearly states in the video what career field it is and what they are doing step by step.

Pretty lame demo. No fire and manuever, poor shots with the 240's and M-2. Vehicles deployed too close together. And what's with saying fire mission when you are using a MK-19 or 240.

I mean come on put a little spiec into and so some emotion.

And why are they using a Mk 19 for a target at 300 meters? Well other than the obvious reason of having fun and blowing **** up!

Sorry numbers, I just don't understand your questioning. You asked who the guys were in the turret and were they SF. That was made very apparent in the video which you provided.

k9Jake - I sometimes miss the obvious Smile

I may be alone on this but I liked that video! I've seen vids of Army Infantry, USMC, Army SF, Seals, British Royal Marines, IDF Commandos, all the reputed "high speed" units. I have trained and shot with some ex-Rangers/Marines as a LEO. Pardon the pun, but its not like they get light-sabers.

I was actually surprised at how combative AF SF can be. Im just an outsider looking in, but you guys should be proud of what you do. Don't let some grunt tell you he can kick your a**.

As a civlian cop if you pull over some ex-Seal/Recon/Rambo whatever who is commiting crimes, are you gonna let him take you out because "hes more elite" then you? You going to let another man kill you because he is supoposivly "better trained"? Hell no.

Never happens? On the streets - try often. How about that ex-USMC gangbanger who killed those cops? Not to single out the USMC - there are gangmembers active in ALL parts of the military. You MAY face someone on the street with military training. Dosn't mean your gonna back down or stop fighting! Many "harmless" transients out there are ex-Vietnam vets who have seen combat. They might not remember what day it is, or who is president but they still recall their military IDs, last time they shipped, when they got back, what schools they attended, etc. Do they remember how to kill a man? I bet.

As AF SF if we go to war with another country who has a modern military, are you gonna surrender to their Infantry guys because they are "trained to kill"? Hell no.

This is nonsense.

Like I said, im no Rambo with a illustrious background. Just a guy who did the civilian Police thing in a crappy city for a little while.

Have a little pride. Thats all im saying. YOU CAN'T WIN A FIGHT THINKING YOUR INFERIOR. Looks like you guys can rock and roll if you have to. Rock on.

-numbers

PS: FWIW I was at some military cage-fights recently. I saw alot of guys from "tough" units get demolished by Airman and Sailors. I didn't see any of those guys gettin intimidated Razz

You're right, cool video. But irrelevant to a discussion about USAF Security Forces unless you were talking techniques and tactics.

Most of those guys doing the room clearing stuff were Iraqi SF types, not US.

Stonewall,

From the initial post-looked like there was no discussion other than a question posed as to who was riding the vehicles.

Did I miss something or are you just making small talk?

Just thought the video sucked so I posted a better one. Just helping the young jedi out.

Well, the original video was video of AF Security Forces and the discussion that followed was that about Security Forces. I don't know, just seemed like if someone was going to post another video it would have been about....security forces.

Hey guys thanks for posting more stuff! Sorry I kind of got on a soap box there. As for the video..

Great video!! Stonewall is absolutely right though. It has nothing to do with AF SF. I have seen clips of that video before, and they are mostly Army Special Forces. I actually went to a Army SF base and spoke with a recruiter. Those guys are motivated to do battle! It was one of my dreams just going to see a SF base. Im still seeing how my work outs go, but I may end up going with it. The problem is I would be gone so long, my civilan LEO cert would likely expire. With the AF SF I would be back sooner, so its possible being a civilian cop and Air Cop. With Army SF, they say everytime you go back home you have to find a new wife, a new job, and a new place to live. Deployments are very long from what the recruiter told me. So I would have to say bye-bye to Law Enforcement work. Per my recruiter's advice, I bought a rucksack and filled it with 50 pounds of weights and junk. So far I did a 5, 7, and 15 mile ruck. I was beat after the 15. I have to see what 20 will do to me. And this is on a nice flat road with no equipment or weapons. SFAS must be torture. I have alot of respect for anyone who can endure that.

Sorry - I went rambling off again. But its for good reason! Since that was Army SF doing real CQB ops, im sure the good Airman want to see some Airforce action! Here is a breif video of AF SF training CQB. Bear in mind its obviously training. However, as time goes on I think we will be seeing alot more of this stuff from the AF.

Not quite true, there are a LOT of cops in Army NG SF units. In VA, our former tactical (SWAT) officer association president, was a member of the SF Company that was based on AP Hill. I know he had to take a military leave of absence to complete SFAS, the Q-Course, and language training. The state of VA allows your LE certifications to keep running while while deployed. You just have to re-qualify with your weapon, and complete an "In Service" within a specified time of returning to duty.

Dsummer - How you doing sir. Thats actually what im looking at here in FL is a NG unit. That information makes me feel alot better. Now if I can just woop myself into better shape, and finally decide what im gonna do. My feet got all sored and blistered from those few marches I did. I thought I had tough feet but no. I need to toughen them up, too many years of tennis shoes. Im at about 60 push ups and sit ups before failure if I really go for the gold. Thats giving it my absolute all though. And thats putrid for a guy who would want Army SF. So, I got a long ways to go Smile

We will see if I can atleast cut gettin in. Im undecided still - as I like the AF SF job alot too. The CATM school and variety of speacilties sounds like a great experience.
