My husband is being deployed 6 months before I am. I understand that he'll get family separation since we're residing together before he left, but when he returns and I'm still in country for 6 more months, does family separation start up for me for those months after his deployment is over, or is it counted like he wasn't residing with me before I deployed so I won't get family separation?
Also, one of the guys in my company is dual also and he stated that both him and his wife (who is in the same BN so got deployed at the same time) both got BAH while they were deployed. Is this the case? I just don't want to be paying a ton of money back because of wrong information. I'm also headed back to the reserves under a year after my deployment ends. My husband's BAH would obviously go up to the w/dep rate since I'll only be reserves. But how does that work when I'm deployed? I know when my husband was guard he got BAH, so if I get deployed do I get the BAH at w/o dep rate for the zip code I live in and he has to go to finance to change his to w/o dep for where he's stationed, or how does that work? Thank you for any help. |

you are each eligible for BAH on your own merits..single if no kids, one would get W/Dep if there are kids. Usually the Senior, but generally whichever one has the kids on their Page 2.
can't answer the family Sep question. |

I was just wondering if we both keep getting the w/o dep rate while we're deployed, or if they stop BAH while we're deployed.
I understand the whole w or w/o dep if you have a kid or not if we're both still in the states, but I'm asking specifically for deployment. |

Your FSA will switch from your husband to you once he returns from his deployment.
