I am currently interested in going to AMT "A" school. I just reported in as a FN to the Biscayne Bay in St Ignace. I look forward to the experience on the ship, but I also want to get into AMT asap. I have a few questions. How long might the wait be to get into the school? What goes on with the avaiation physical? and if I do get into AMT school will my spouse be able to come with me? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

First of all, welcome to the Coast Guard. I don't know how long the wait is for AMT right now. As far as the list is concerned you will probably have to route a chit through your chain of command. You'll probably have to complete your flight physical in Traverse City at the Airstation. Make sure you knock out your shipboard quals too. In the meantime, enjoy northern Michigan it has a lot of cool stuf to offer.

The game is solid. The winter-spring has been great down here in Atlanta. I have been working hard in the gym. I have been playing a lot of volleyball over the winter. We have one big v-ball tourney left this year, US Open Nationals here in Atlanta next month in May.
I'll contact you in global..

I've been an amt3 for 2 years. if i had it to do over I'd go AET. There is no wait for AET school and advancement is currently a lot faster.
