Are MP's treated differently by other soldiers? I heard that they're kind of treated like normal cops are. I'm a female and may already be treated with disdain-I'm not sure I want a double whammy against me... Also, did anyone have a problem getting the security clearance with bad credit? My recruiter says I may be able to get past it since my debt is less than 9 grand...any info would be much appreciated!
The only people who treat MPs with distain (besides the normal inter-Army Branch heckling) are those did something wrong and had to deal with us while we conducted our L&O mission.
Don't know about the credit thing, so I can't otther any advice there.
We are sometimes disliked but not too seriously. Those who have been into trouble will have their feelings. The rest heckle us but are always glad to see us when we show up in two or more humvees to help kick the tail off the enemy. We bring quite a lot of firepower in a small 3-4 soldier team. Good luck in your quest to become an M.P. Just remember, if things do not go your way, go support and you still could end up in an M.P. company, with that you could become an M.P. later on.
