I don't know how to say this without sounding like a smart@$$.

Mission: The same thing every other MP does, only in combat they have the ability to get to the battlefield by jumping out of a plane.

Daily Life: The same thing every other MP does every day, except there are more division runs across Fort Bragg, and at least four times a year, you practice the aforementioned jumping out of a plane.

Thank you for that information, just not really sure why they would need wings then.

They need to be able to get there very early on to make sure all the support gets where it needs to be, in one piece. They also secure routes and someplace for the combat arms folks to call a base of operations. Can't just get there when you feel like it. By the time everyone else mosies in the airborne troops are supposed to have a handle on the area. Yes that includes the MP's.

I liked Air Assaults as an MP. Four Guys, Two jeeps slung. Drop the jeeps, rappel out, load and go. Course now it'd be a HMMV's and four guys or two and eight. But It'd still be a blast. Only did that a couple of times but great experience.

I guess when I was in we were just short handed and only used two man teams. Three would have been better but you role with what ya got I suppose.
