What about the first pass that allowed you to go into Anniston? 25 guys all sleeping in the same hotel room to save money and blowing the rest on beer, only to have the DS PT you when you came back - boy, did the beer ever come back up.

I went back in 87 or so to visit some friends from Basic and Ft. Bragg - they were either DS themselves or Range NCOs. Talk about coming full circle.

Got that pass to Anniston and picked up a trainee from another unit at some bar called the Whistle Stop or something like that, this was Spring '79. So I guess you can say I was very happy with my pass.

Papa Baines? Baby Baines? Someone clue me in. Does anyone remember "Cardiac Hill" at Fort McClellan? We'd have to run PT up that damned thing and half of the company would fall out puking.

You were the last person to go to Basic at one installation and AIT at Ft. McCellan. When I walked into the MP School the Command Sgt Major had to find an OSUT unit about ready to graduate from the basic portion. I was on casual status for about 10 days before I started training again.

My old Basic Training ground now belongs tot he US aRmy Reserves..Ft Dix , sand pile of the east. Cool

HOLY CRAP Ft. Dix is a reserve base now??? I had no idea, guess I had better pay attention. I went through basic there 1/79 - 3/79; it was the coldest winter in 30 years, got down to 20 below when were were on tactical bivouac, we had some frostbite injuries. To this day I hate cold weather because of it. What's the scoop with the MP MOS being changed from 95B to 31B???
