Hubby and I were looking into FLW as his next duty assignment. Provided he gets BOP on his re enlistment. Whats it like out there. We've never been there. Well I have for all of 30 mins a year or so ago. Hubby was SF in the Air Force and never had to do AIT. So we don't know much about the base. Good sides bad sides. Any info you think we might need to know.

Or any other good Garrison bases out there. Since hubby really wants to be able to work the roads. He's with an HHC right now. Other then LETS he's hasn't gotten to work the road as an MP. thanks for the input.

The post itself is not bad, they have put lots of money into it since the MANSCEN went up.

LOTS of trainees, Engineer, MP, Chemical, Trans.

He will work the road there, at least three months a year, per training cycle.

Only problem is, it's in the middle of no where.

And because it's in the middle of nowhere is pretty boring up there.

The neatest thing about the base is the amazing museum there. I was there for about 2 1/2 weeks, and it's boring. Rolla? is the town there, and the most exciting things are Walmart and Cracker Barrel....

Try Ft. Lewis. I've never been stationed there, but, I live up here, and there's a lot going on. I understand the Ft. Lewis MP's stay pretty busy, too. I've seen them in many of the advanced Criminal Justice Training Commission courses I have taken. If you like outdoorsy stuff, it's here. If you like the city, it's here, Seattle and Tacoma. If you want a break from the green side, cross over the mountains to eastern Washington.

Ft Lewis was one of the places we talked about. Carson was another. Of course I have a feeling we're stuck at Campbell for another three years once he re enlists. With the number of NCO's they are loosing next year.

I would pick Carson over FLW anyday. I was a Drill Sergeant at FLW. Expect nothing to be around you unless you want to drive. You have a few restaurants and Walmart and that is it.

heh the sad thing is we picked Campbell over Carson when he got his B.O.P. Switching over from the Air Force.

the hubby just wants to be in a place where he can work garrison. He misses it sooo bad.
