I am thinking of joining the military soon and I was curious what the duties and opportunities for an Army MP are? How much more combat training does MP's recieve than Sec Forces? And is there specialty jobs like the ravens team in the air force for MP's? And when on base at home are what are their duties and also in Iraq in war? I am torn in making a decision with this so I wanna hear from experienced soldiers.

If you want combat training just go Infantry.

No, MPs are just the arsholes that arrest the grunts. MPs are nothing like the Infantry, nor do any Infantry missions. MPs in Iraq no patrol the fob and give you a ticket if you go to fast or don't wear your seatbelt or mich in a hummer/styker

Not all M.P.'s are enemy #1. We are not infantry that is very true, nor do I think I am infantry with a badge. Yes there are some that have their heads up their own, but not all of us are that way. I am an M.P. myself and I had to deal with my own kind while on deployment, I was threatened with an article 15 for not wearing my k-pot and goggles while sitting in the turret at Bagram Air Base, unfortuately the 82nd tried to run it like Bragg back in the states. Some active duty M.P.'s even hate us that are ARNG.

M.P.'s get some hooah training but the best of the best (S.F.) are the ones who have the best training.

If you want more combat training, I would agree that you should go into infantry. I don't know why there is such a misconception that we mps have more guns, well I haven't seen many grunts carrying a 9 mil (big deal)

The MP misson in baghdad is garbage, we are practically babysitting iraqi police. STAY AWAY FROM BECOMING A 31Bravo
